I live in Glencoe- where E-Classes are too numerous to count, much like the Lexus RX330. If we get an E550, which I just began to consider today because Insideline said it was "perfect" in every way, (and its massive power) I'm sure we'll have a highly admired car- I'm fairly sure it has more power than the last-generation E-Class's AMG model! I have a 2005 E320 CDI and I find it a little small for my 40,000 plus miles I drive each year. I just got off the phone with mercedes and they tell me the R class will introduce in this Oct 2007 with the new V6 deisel. Can anyone tell me if this engine and transmission has been used in Europe before? Can anyone tell me what kind of mileage I can expect. I don't like to buy a car ... Read More...

Also speculation- the X5 actually may gain the new 335ci coupe's bi-turbo 3.0 liter 6, producing approximately 300hp. This would give it more than enough power to be faster than the Cadillac SRX V6/V8, Infiniti FX35/45, Lexus RX350/400h, Mercedes-Benz ML350/500, and Porsche Cayenne/Cayenne S. Lucky me... I've had no problems with the four Audis I've owned, and the dealership experience (sans The Audi Exchange, which I got my first A6 from) has been impeccable. When I got my S4, my dealer-friend, Paul, told me that my car was "the coolest looking car they'd ever had on the lot" and people stopped to admire it many times. I could have sworn I saw some pricing sheets for the 2007 and while the base price went up a little, the options got redone such that for a lot of people, the net price is lower. I had a rear camera on my last two cars and loved it. I was worried about just having Parktronic when I switched to the E. I'm already right at home... I think that Mercedes-Benz isn't importing the E550 here because, frankly, it has no market. The S6 Avant (as well as the A6 4.2 Avant) isn't being sold here, and as far as I know, there is no 550xi wagon. Also, the E500/550 was a bit pricey- it looks like a bad value next to the ample E350, which is already in most of its competitors' V8 price ... Read More...

Yeah I think Mercedes is finally starting to get a clue about how to package options while at the same time offering more standard equipment. ESF will love this statement...lol. The E-Class will never be a bargain, no Mercedes is but this revision in equipment will likely be a big hit once the 07's hit the ground. M Read More...
