I doubt it, ads are in print for the GS430 already. They will update the engines, but it will be for the 2007 model year I'm guessing. Mercedes is in a similar bind with their V8 engines because no new models (CLS, M-Class) will get a next-generation V8 until the S-Class debuts them. jmatone: I just sold a 96 E320 4 months ago with 140,000 miles on the odometer. Until it hit 115,000 there was only one problem: the rubber bushings in the front end sway bars and tie rod ends had to be replaced. It was done under the Starmark warranty. At 115K it needed shocks, serpentine belt, and brake rotors and pads, none of which are failures; but wear items.. ... Read More...

Actually the C has outsold the E (in this country) for the last few years, but not by much. I'm sure Mercedes would like the higher margin E to be the bestselling Benz again, but oh well. Sometime in the near future (05' model year) I would bet that the "E320" will become the "E350" to reflect the new 3.5L DOHC Direct-injection V6 making it's debut in the 2005 SLK350. This engine makes 268hp in the SLK. I don't expect the E350 to be quite that powerful, but you can expect at least 250hp, and the 7-Seed automatic also. Since the 545i, new A6 4.2. both ... Thanks for all the info guys! and gals! I am going back to the dealer again today to see what I can do. I don't think I can do better than the 40k. I have seen the cars here, San Francisco, go for about $42-44 for the 2002 and $50-58k for the 2003 E320. habitat1 which part of the US are you in, Washington DC?
