Reliability issues. Climate control: 5 times in the shop for now, and going in now for the 6th. Rough Idle: 4 times. Seat belt motor: 3 times. Driver's seat motor. Rain sensor activating on a dry windshield. Reverse Ttilt for rear view mirror: repaired 4 times. Radio: 2 times. Steer clear. Overall reliability of electrical items is horrid.

Favorite Features

Key dependency Automatic closing of windows by holding the key fob in the lock position.

Suggested Improvements

Improve electrical component quality.

As the title explains, this is my wife's car, I drive a 4-Runner. With a totally un-biased account, I can honestly say this car is too narrow for my 6' 215 lbs. frame. The seats aren't very comfortable, No lumbard support/ adjustment. The controls/ navigation are difficult to master and as mentioned in previous ratings, one cup holder. Now with all that said, I do have to compliment it's mechanical refinement. I mean The Germans are leaps and bounds ahead of us in the automobile industry. I don't have to change the oil for 13,000 miles! We debate over 3 to 5000? The 5 ltr. engine is mated to a 7-spd A/T. for a flawless performance. Man, I wish it were wider...or I was smaller.

Favorite Features

302 hp, 339lbs. of torque, 7-speed auto. tran. w/ steering wheel shifting, craftsmanship and quality of materials.

Suggested Improvements

Get rid of the overpriced phone system and add plain old blue tooth.

Review

I consider myself a savvy consumer and when a popular consumer's mag didn't produce a top notch review, at first I was skeptical. Now after living with the MB320CLK for almost 2 1/2 years, I couldn't be more in love with this vehicle since the day I purchased it for my wife's wedding. It remains absolutely flawless in every aspect. Great looking car, great handling, and you just can't beat a convertible like this in the California sun!

Favorite Features

Handling, engine response remain true at any speed. Road feedback is precise. The heated seats are a must have option.

Suggested Improvements

A second cup holder would be great!

This car is excellent. It is peppy and tight, handles and corners beautifully. The top retracts rapidly and is the quietest convertable I have ever had. The finish is fine and I have no second thoughts at having leased it.

Review

Don't be fooled by the fact that the emblem says Mercedes Benz. The car is poorly designed and poorly built. Interior is cramped; upgraded sound system is tinny; radio reception is awful; climate control is poor, navigation system is impossible to use. At least 5 service visits in less than a year due to defects. This is more like a Reliant K than a Mercedes Benz!

Favorite Features

Styling is great but conceals the fact that this is a highly overpriced vehicle.

Suggested Improvements

Quality control, quality control, quality control!

Review

What a head rush it is to drive this car! Even at top speeds it floats and is the smoothest ride I have ever experienced. I liken the feel of the engine when stepping down on the pedal to going into hyperspace. This thing's a rocket! Sure, I've had little things go wrong but that's what happens when you have such complicated electronics. I would definitely buy this car again even though I paid over sticker because of its rarity and popularity.

Favorite Features

The engine, the BOSE sound system, the ease of use of the convertible top, keyless entry and keyless go, ventilated seats

Suggested Improvements

More trunk space, more legroom in rear, more drink holders which hold different sizes of cups, less cumbersome navigation as in other MBZ vehicles, more "racey" exterior design, ability to change preset radio stations from steering wheel and not just scroll through stations

Review

We searched forever for the perfect family convertible and wanted the class that Mercedes could offer. This was my first Mercedes purchase. This car is only driven on the weekends and only has about 1500 miles since purchase four months ago. Within 500 miles we developed a huge rattle under the car. Took it in and it was fixed right away. A bolt was missing from the exhaust system (never installed according to the dealer). Now at 1500 miles we have to have something in the front steering replaced because it has a leak. The part is 4-5 weeks out and we have to bring the car back in again. As far as driving it; I love it. It is a beautiful car and drives nice (when its not in the shop).

Favorite Features

I love the ease of the convertible and room that the rear seat and trunk offer. I have two kids and both are in car seats. We all fit fine.

Suggested Improvements

To jump on the bandwagon; the cup holder stinks.

2005 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class CLK320 2dr Coupe (3.2L 6cyl 5A)

Review

This car is probably one of the best looking cars on the road. It is a perfect blend of luxury and sportiness. It drives effortlessly, though maintains solid grip of the road. I had the previous generation model before, and the current model has a much stiffer suspension and tighter handling. The car's beauty makes a strong statement of style and is in a class of its own.

Favorite Features

Looks and ride/drive quality.

Suggested Improvements

Needs another cupholder. Rear seat entry is awkward with the front seats only fully upliftable when they are in the back half of the range - they should be automatically forward moving like the previous model.

Great riding and driving car. After almost 10k miles 0 defects! Does not appear to enjoy the resale value of my 2000! However I feel the car is far superior to my previous CLK430!

Favorite Features

I enjoy the navigation system and steering wheel controls! Sport shifter is fun!!!

Suggested Improvements

Shoulder belts vibrate from wind flow with the front and rear side windows in fully opened position vibration eliminated when rear window is up! Occassionally when cruising my knee can touch the power seat controls should be in a different position. Could use 2 cup holders
