The new 1.8L engines will be coming here this year, first in the 2003 C 230 K model. I wish they would offer these "M271" engines in the C sedan too, as the low-tech 3-valve 2.6 L V-6 is a bit of a dog (no power, peaky torque, a bit rough running due the the 90 degree bank spacing and with quite poor fuel economy). I took delivery of a C320 back in Nov 2001. Thus far after 8000 miles...no problems at all. After reading about all the problems others are having, I just wanted others to know that I love this car. pexpl, I really wish I could enjoy our brand new C320 like you do. My wife and I purchased our brand new 2002 C320 in late January 2002. Everything was great until March when the engine suddenly died while we were driving on the freeway. At the time, the car only had about 1400 miles. The car was in the dealer for 5 days. I disagree with the poster who says the 900 and the 9-3 are the same car and unreliable. I have a 9-3. Best car I ever owned. The phone is a very easy one. Unless someone has coerced a secret from M-B that I haven't been able to, you have to get it from M-B. Have had 3 different models fairly recently all with phone and none would accept the startac I walk around with. I personally think that with a few tweaks the C320 could also sit at the top of this group. It's still more of a entry-level luxury sedan than Mercedes would lead you to believe. The C320 "Sport" needs to have it's suspension retuned to accept 17 inch tires without a harsh ride. MB also needs to stop forcing metal trim and black leather on everyone that wants the sport ... 2002 C240 Problems

Ordered the car, waited 6 months and took delivery in October 2001. C240 with all options except command. At 300 miles the sunroof would not close. Dealer fixed it. At 720 miles the sunroof would not close. Dealer fixed it. On a long trip, the low beam left Xenon went out. Tele-Aid said to go to a local gas staion and buy a bulb...on I95 in South Carolina!..
