Review

These cars drive like a cloud on the highway great for long cruises very comfortable almost like sitting in an easy chair with full position controls. Ample power with the 560 engine and great handling for a car this size, very quiet and smooth ride probably better than the new ones made in North America

Favorite Features

Multi function power seats for long trips. You can move positions for comfort when sitting for long periods of time. You need to distribute weight around a bit every now and then. Smooth ride even at high speeds. Handles well for large car

Suggested Improvements

Does need cup holders which you can get after market

Review

This car was given to me when I got my license a few months ago. It doesn't dent, and it would survive any collisions. I'm at 84k miles and I've had a lot of problems, and it costs an arm and a leg to repair. The A/C compressor is broken and the dealer wants $2k for it. I feel really safe in it, but I get an awful 10 mpg and it's extremely difficult to park and maneuver. It takes a lot of strength to turn the wheel. This car isn't for short people - the hood is gigantic.

Favorite Features

The powerful V8 engine. It's fast. ABS, SRS and hydropneumatic level control coming standard is new for '91.

Suggested Improvements

Keyless entry. For as much as the car was worth when it came out it should have a glove compartment and gloveholders. I have to drive friends around a lot, and they complain about the backseat being extremely bouncy but they like that it reclines and has heaters.

Review

I am 60 years old and have always been a car buff, and this has got to be one of the best cars ever built. I just bought this car one month ago and have driven over 2000 miles. It is 15 years old with only 35,000 miles and 2 other owners. I thank them for the fine care and low miles. This car looks and drives like new!

Review

Best car I ever owned. Dependable, hugs the road, sturdy, comfortable to drive. Fourteen years and very few problems outside of regular maintenance. Fabulous car.

Favorite Features

Sturdy body, no unusual maintenance, interior leather best quality and still in excellent shape after 14 years of Florida sun.

Suggested Improvements

None....to my mind best car ever made.

Review

An eBay purchase, this car was repainted following purchase due to sun damage but otherwise needed very little. I own 6 classic Mercedes and this is the grand pappy of them all, with silky-smoooth ride and exceptional quietness. This model sold for $82,900 new, and can be purchased typically for $10K to $20K depending on condition. Probably the closest thing to a "lifetime" car you can buy, with much simpler electronics and lower costs of ownership than the successor 140 series cars. As far as what to watch out for, these cars had some corrosion problems in the rear window areas and sometimes the glass would delaminate; used glass is about $400.

Favorite Features

Styling, power, roominess

Suggested Improvements

Replacing the stereo is expensive; speakers have to be replaced; all non- standard size
