Review

A great example of great design and manufacturing prowess, this is a solid car that is safe, reliable, and extremely durable. It's 12 years later and I still see many of them on the road.

Favorite Features

Smooth V8, solid construction, great ride, much room and comfort for the driver and passenger.

Suggested Improvements

It was very advanced for it's time, with ABS, self-leveling suspention, heated seats, etc. Not many people cared back then, but cupholders are now required equipment.

I love my 560SEL. It has the perfect combination: Comfort Power Reliabilty Classic looks I believe it to be the best car MB has made in the last 15 years. I've had friends with newer models and they are great cars, but there is just something special about this "next classic"

Review

A car that you can't give up after 156,000 miles is really a winner. It is a dream on the highway, for long cruises. It did take getting used to as it takes more arm strength to manuever than an American car, but once you get used to it, it is wonderful. The heated seats have you warm in one block. The radio, heat, A/C, reliability are great. In minor bumps, it rarely dents. It retains it's new car look permanently. After 156,000, the interior still seems new.

Favorite Features

Power, acceleration, heated seats, highway driving, reliability, pride in driving up in the car

Suggested Improvements

Had to buy cupholders which was absurd. Takes an average of 90 minutes wait from time arriving for servicing to time leaving with loaner. Routine maintenance prices from dealer are statospheric. Dealer did not honor the $2000 extended warranty bought from dealer.

Review

This "flagship" of the S-class manages to blend luxury and performance in a classic package. The M117 light-alloy, fuel injected V-8 has incredible horsepower and exhilerating performance and handling. Even with the alterations to conform to the U.S. govermental regulations, this vehicle has superb performance. Besides all the creature comforts, it was ahead of its time with ABS, SRS and hydropneumatic level control.

Favorite Features

Glove soft leather, heated, multi position seats. Terrific factory installed sound system & CD changer. 2 tons of steel moving 0-60 mph in 7 seconds.

Suggested Improvements

Auto door locks better engineered for accessibility. Cup holders for front and rear positions should be standard equiptment. Dual air bags are great safety feature, but could still use a glove box.
