2005 Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class SLK350 2dr Roadster (3.5L 6cyl 6M)

MB has a hit with the SLK. It is a drop-dead gorgeous roadster that continues to draw stares from all types. Last weekend, two Harley riders gave us a thumbs-up and mouthed "nice car" as we passed. The quality is outstanding, both interior fit & finish, and exterior paint & wheels. With the top up, the interior is as quiet as any car that I have owned. The trunk size is reasonable... two medium duffle bags and a 12 pack cooler provide plenty of room for a weekend getaway. Mileage is 19 city & 24-25 hi-way. Sometimes we think that we spent too much for this "mid-life toy" but then we take it for a quick drive and immediately change our minds. This car is a true joy.

Best Features

Outstanding material quality. The hard top is magic. Engine is fast with plenty of torque throughout the range. The 7 speed transmission senses when you drive aggressively... raising the shift points while the exhaust roars. Great stereo. Wife loves the air scarfs & heated seats.

Worst Features

Stereo needs brighter screen display when driving with top down. Also needs fade controls. Six CD changer takes up too much of glove box space. Cup holders are a bit funky but actually are very functional.
