2007 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S550 4dr Sedan (5.5L 8cyl 7A)
I ordered the Car in August of 06 and took delivery in November 06.
I currently have over 160000 miles and have done all of the suggested maintance at the dealer.
I have replaced items due to normal use but only had to repair one window that would not roll down and replace the Sirius portion of the radio.
This is my first 'S' class and I hope not my last.
It still drives better that ANY car I have ever owned.
Distronic is the most important feature.
I will not get another car without this option.
Read the previews for the 2014 S 550.
It will do more that I could ever suggest! Mercedes seems to be one step ahead of everyone else.
This car is completely complicated, and taking it to the dealer means you will spend three times what you should. Benz dealers profit margin on service is over fifty percent. You should look at resalers and E-bay for parts. The warranty is out on the last W221 made in 2007, and like the W140 that Princess Dianna died in, this car will end up in the junk yard because of its over complicated wiring harness, and stupid complicated air suspension, which is notorious at Benz for leaking and breaking down, just look at the W220. They are in the junk yard due to the 4000.00 dollar suspension components and bad wiringharnesses. The best Benz you can buy is still the eighties OM617 diesel engine in the W126 body. That is the legendary million mile motor from when Benz still built an actual quality car, not this new stuff that is so complicated that it will be in the junk yard when the eight thousand dollar computer breaks.
