2004 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S55 AMG 4dr Sedan (5.4L 8cyl S/C 5A)

Review

This car is worth every penny. It will
beat any Ferrari or anything from
Italy and for sure anything from
Bavaria.

Best Features

Lots and lots of power and luxury

Worst Features

Can't improve on perfection.

2004 Mercedes-Benz S-Class S500 4MATIC AWD 4dr Sedan (5.0L 8cyl 5A)

Review

excessive wind noise at 60mph, tyre noise
at 70mph. Dealer & MBUSA says the car
comes like that. probably design fault.
Dealer says all S500 sound like that.
Recommend test drive Audi A8L and BMW
b4 purchasing MB S500. cannot compare to
Audi A8L which is silent at any speed. cruise
control stalk gets in the way. steering
buttons annoying. soft front seats with poor
support.

Best Features

view from cockpit, hydraulic doors, AWD, engine power

Worst Features

re-design interior and improve sound deading material. better seats

Review

This car replaced identical 2000 S
Class which had numerous electrical and
computer problems. New model is free
from these glitches. Never had
mechanical problem with Mercedes. Enjoy
the quality of the burl walnut and
interior appointments. New features
that I like are the power trunk, keyless
go start on the shift knob, voice
control on nearly everything,power
curtains, digital readout of tire
pressures and a much improved
navigational system on DVD. Car remains
very responsive with sharp turning
radius. I don't need AMG assist for my
driving. It appears to me M-B has given
us many innovations that are quickly
copied by other manufactures.

Best Features

Lighted Mercedes Benz name on door entry sill. No key entry and start system. Power assist door closure. Power assist brakes and other numerous safety features leaving you with the impression this is one safe car.

Worst Features

Time for a face lift. Would recommend a slightly bigger body for the S Class with improved trunk space. Needs one single touch(not continous pressure as now required) to adjust seat position. Leather could still be softer. Front drinking cup holders are still atrocious.
