The S class is one of the greatest cars ever made. It is solid, comfortable, and genuinely a pleasure to drive. I have owned mine since 1997, and I still look forward to driving it. My wife owns a new M class (2002), but I greatly prefer my car.
Ride quality and body integrity are first rate. Styling is great, and this model is aging gracefully.
The power door lock button is a little frustrating (it is not intuitive -- you have to press it "up" to make the doors lock). There should be an "open door" warning light. The doors do not lock automatically once the vehicle meets a certain speed. Heated seats were optional on this car.
