2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)

Review

I love it. Handling is amazing. The whole feel of the car, and I say car, feels so much better then the old ML. Go out and get one!

Favorite Features

I would have to say the shift mechanism is my favorite. The push button for parking is really cool.

Suggested Improvements

Third row seats would be nice. The seven speed transmission needs to be looked at. Uphill and downhill climbing, and shifting is not as smooth as I thought a MBZ would be.

2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)

Review

Umprecedented riding for an ML Class. Impossible to compare to the previous ML, but the Air Ride is a must if you want to have fun. Almost noiseless at 70 mph compared to my previous Lexus RX 330 (04). The interior plastic is disapointing for a Mercedes. I paid 65K (fully loaded). The vehicle is a firm 4x4 under heavy rain. I have with the AMG package which is $4K more, but gives an amazing different appearance from the regular ML 350. More interior leather would help the poor plastic interior( a Chrysler feature). The music component and the rear entertaiment system are a plus to keep the children quiet. The cargo space is almost double of the Lexus RX 330. Gas: 18/22 so far.

Favorite Features

Airmatic ride is a plus for a comfortable ride.

Suggested Improvements

More leather in the interior. There is a jumping downshift on the automatic transmission.

Review

Just bought it and I love it. It is really fun to drive. The interior is very comfortable and all components are at your fingertips. The gear shift is innovative and easy to use. I love the new design. In fact, I can't stop looking at it, and it's the same for other drivers. Excellent performance. The ride is so smooth even at high speed. Engine is real quiet but purrs upon acceleration. I would recommend this car to anyone.

Favorite Features

Everything is great. I especially love the sound system

Suggested Improvements

Leans a little on turns

Review

I'm probably one of the first buyers of this '06 ML350. An awesome drive, very quiet, low road noise, and excellent navigation. The best transmission in the industry. It makes the RX look like a baby toy crying for more room and horsepower. I already have driven 5500 miles. I love it.

Favorite Features

Navigation, memory seats, premium lighting, power cargo gate.

2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)

Review

MB has hit a home run with the 2006 ML350. We've clocked about 1300 miles on our 2006 ML350 and are very impressed. It surpasses the BMW X5 in every capacity and Lexus in all but one capacity (ease of use of Lexus' navigation is far superior than MB's). Mileage is excellent, the engine is capable and very quiet, comfortable yet sporty ride and much better looking than any other 5 seater luxury SUV in the market. Don't bother with the ML500 ... it's a much thirstier and heavier beast. The ML250 with it's 268 bhp engine is very capable and quick. Very well put together, fit and finish is unparalleled.

Favorite Features

Quiet ride, air-matic suspension, 7 speed automatic transmission, parktronic, seats, great looks, 19" chrome MB wheels, cruise control, upgraded Harmon-Kardon sterero, head lights that turn with the vehicle

Suggested Improvements

The navigation system is brutally complex to use. MB has got to change this. It's by far the worst i've ever seen and desperately needs touch- screen and voice-activation capabilities. This is the only reason I scored the car with an "8" on interior design. It would get a "10" with better nav.

2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML500 4dr SUV AWD (5.0L 8cyl 7A)

Review

I truly enjoy the experience of driving this vehicle. I believe this is by far a much better vehicle than the earlier ML Class. This vehicle handles very well and has no problem with power. The only thing I have to get used to is the brakes are a little touchy, and when you are driving in heavy traffic, the 7 speed automatic transmission is geared very low. If you are in normal traffic, the car is superb.

Favorite Features

I enjoy the new design of the shifting of the vehicle. It is very easy . All automobiles should be like this. It is like using your blinkers to shift . Then you can put it in park from any gear by pressing the button.

Suggested Improvements

I would possibly look into the braking system of this car. They are a little touchy. Also better improve the transmision shifting in take offs when you are in heavy traffic.

Review

Its too early to judge performance, fuel economy or reliability. The biggest disappointment so far is the navigation system. The nav system in my 2005 Lexus SC430 is a Rolex compared to the Timex quality unit in the Mercedes. Also, there is no bluetooth option for cell phones.

Favorite Features

It accelerates quickly and smoothy, and does not have the truck-like ride that many SUVs have.

Suggested Improvements

1. Get a Denso navigation system instead of the Alpine unit in the vehicle; 2. Offer a back up camera with the nav system; 3. Use a heavier weave carpet in the storage area instead of velour.

Review

It is an excellent and quite ride and the entertainment package makes the sound system sound phenomenal. Also the power for a V6 is excellent and blows away the Cayenne that I sold last year.

Favorite Features

The appearance package with the chrome rims is awesome looking and the Sirius satellite radio is priceless. I also love the suede-leather mix with the interior front seats.

Suggested Improvements

Maybe more horses in the six cylinder and maybe third row seating but it is near perfect where it is at with the space.

2006 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML350 4dr SUV AWD (3.5L 6cyl 7A)

Review

I expected an excellent vehicle and Mercedes-Benz delivered far more than that in this 2006 ML350. Each and every segment and system is flawless. With the air-ride it handles like a sports car, nimble and sure footed, and the power plant runs you down the road like a bat outta hell. The highway mileage is about 24+ cruising at 70 MPH, around town about 17mpg. After looking and driving all the other manufacturers current offerings, many had some similar characteristics, but none had them all in such a well put together, comfortable, and driving machine. A must buy for any serious luxury SUV shopper

Favorite Features

The air-ride suspension. The instrumentation cluster and display. The comfort, and huge cupholders. The 7 speed tranny, and power. It would be easier to list what I don't like.

Suggested Improvements

An additional inch of width in the drivers side foot well
