2002 Mercedes-Benz M-Class ML320 AWD 4dr SUV (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
Purchased as a flexible, sturdy, safe

is strongly-built with many safety
features. The V6 seems undersized, but
the smooth 5sp automatic works to give
the ML adequate grunt. Fuel economy is
low (16-17MPG). Ride is choppy, but
improves with additional cargo or
passengers. Interior is roomy, quiet
and refined in Mercedes style, with a
great seating position. I find the
seats overly firm for long trips. 4
wheel traction and braking systems and
high clearances make this a decent off
road SUV. Interior pieces have broken,
fixed under warranty. Dealer service
is as expensive as feared.
Outstanding safety features and
ratings, a real feeling of sturdiness.
Seating position gives a feeling of
command of the vehicle. Great usable
space on a relatively short wheelbase.
Great transmission and very usable off
road drive system.
Reduce service costs. Improve
suspension compliance. Pad the seats a
little more. Delicate and complex
interior systems (cupholders, console
lids) could be made simpler and
