Vehicle2008 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL320 CDI 4dr SUV AWD (3.0L 6cyl Turbodiesel 7A)
ReviewI purchased my GL 320 with 115 miles in May. During the 14 months it was in the shop 25 times for repairs. I had the following items fixed or repaired, DVD, parktronic sensors, new struts, mystery oil lights, battery, computer upgrades, air temp sensor, hatch corrected, would not come out of gear, sideview mirror pivet replaced and this is only part of the list.I called MB to file a complaint for buy back or compensation with NO LUCK.Several attorneys said they will not deal with MB because they don't recognize they make lemons. We took a loss to get out of this car and avoid lawsuit. BTW, maintenance is $450 and tires are $1200. Tires last 15,000 miles. Look around at other cars before buying
Best Featuresgas mileage
Worst Featuresdvd needs wireless headsets, expensive and frequent maintenance, needs air vents in 3rd row, tires should last longer than 15,000 miles, navigation system/radio controls should be updated for the price paid, can get more, hi-tech features on lower priced cars

Updated my mtce records today and decided to check Edmonds for other reviews. I'm shocked to read similar stories of problems and repair costs. Bought my 2008 GL 320 CDI (diesel) in November 2008. To date annual mtce costs (taxes in) = $20,261.48 or $4423.90 a year. Big ticket repairs in first 4 years include steering column replacement, 4 shocks plus airbags, cam shaft sensor replacement, rebuild rack & pinion steering. I am very happy with the ride and interior quality however the cost of ownership is the highest of all the vehilces my company has owned. This November 2013 I'll be looking at other products to replace this SUV and I'm not sure if MB will be on my buy list.Report it
