2007 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class GL450 4dr SUV AWD (4.7L 8cyl 7A)

Review

Great driver, fun with plenty of power and comfortable. Good styling, controls are easy to use. It's really a joy to drive. Really disappointed in the quality of the tires-25K and they needed replacing. But the real disappointment is the quality and longevity of the brake pads and rotors. Had to replace both rotors and pads at 27K, unbelievable! You expect much more/better quality from a Mercedes Benz, especially under the mild driving conditions (Speed) in the USA vs the German autobahn. The dealer indicated they have changed material to a softer variation, ostensibly to resolve the squeaking issues that I have read about, but they have done this at significant reliabilty and customer cost

Best Features

Drives extremely well, steering is excellent, engine has adequate power and is very responsive.

Worst Features

Fix the brakes!

Update: SOLD!!!! Somebody else's problem! This vehicle was a a real disappointment! MB really needs to step up their game and improve their quality, 24K for brakes-rotors/pads is absurd. Good riddance to this vehicle-It was a good driver, but way too unreliable.

UPDATE from AZ Driver. The vehicle now has 55K and as predicted the brake service light illuminated, this time the dealer (Different) only replaced the front for $800. I have had both forward struts replaced 3 months apart due to pneumatic leakage from "Heat damage from Arizona weather", one was done as good will the other ~$1500. Also had and engine/transmission seal leak that ran about $400 and the tailgate latch for $450. And no, the car is not painted yellow! VERY disappointed in the quality of this vehicle.
