Smooth power delivery, torque builds progressively once the turbo spools (doesn't take long). Runs out of breath at high rpm. Smooth shifts, but manual mode could be more responsive. Some diesel clatter at low speeds.
Steering is well weighted but lacking in feel and a bit slow. This car feels tremendously stable. Not a very sporting car but isn't trying to be, which is actually kind of refreshing.
Well damped and solid-feeling. Compliant without being mushy. Rides like a Mercedes of 25 years ago. The diesel engine adds a noticeable amount of weight to the car's nose but is managed well.
Excellent isolation from road and wind noise. Engine noise not noticeable at a cruise. This car would make a terrific long-distance travel companion, especially with its long range.
Primary controls are logically placed and displays are clear and bright. Temperature control buttons are more fiddly than necessary. Overall a sound cabin.
Very good forward visibility and out the front windows. Side mirrors are a minimal obstruction. Tall rear deck obscures the view out the back.
Seat Access & Space
Low sills and wide-opening doors facilitate ingress and egress. Ample cabin space front and rear.
Cargo & Storage
Large trunk and folding backseat will swallow a surprising amount of stuff. One nice feature is the remote trunk release that opens the trunk all the way up.
Fit and finish is excellent and the cabin gives the impression of solidity. Controls have a well oiled heft and operate with precision.
