2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan E320 Rwd 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Love the look and drive of my E320
sports package. First MB however very
disappointed with the quality of car.
Had to bring car in shop after 1st week
because radio/cd went dead. Took 3 hrs
to fix. Waited whole time! Glove
compartment rattles, had problems with
A/C turning on about 5+ times, seatbelt
in driver's side lockes up sometimes
when push seat memory button to re-
adjust seat. Alignment already bad with
only 4300 miles. Not looking forward to
bringing it in the shop to get all this
fixed. Bought MB verses BMW b/c heard
BMW had problems. What a
disappointment. Had Honda Accord before
this car and had noooo problems!

Best Features

Nice ride and look! Real head turner!

Worst Features

Better quality!

What a joy to drive and own. I
previously owned a BMW 5 series but am
much happier with the Mercedes E class.

Review

Generally pleased but having wheel
alignment problems that could be tire
problems after two balances and two
alignments. Otherwise ride is not as
smooth as I would like but can't tell
until I get this alignment thing
cured. Watch the Continental tires!

Best Features

Love the "sport" package styling and Sport accents inside.

Worst Features

More back seat leg room - my two prior Passats are the best in class here.

Review

After renting a 2002 E (2.7 turbo
diesel), driving it to the MB factory
and seeing the new E, I decided to buy
one upon return to the US. This car
is smooth, adequately powerful,
elegantly engineered, and well-built.
I also have a Lexus and a Porsche--the
quality of the MB compares very
favorably with them. The MB feels
safer than any other car I've driven.

Best Features

Styling. This car is just a delight to look at, or to wash and wax. The interior is also very pleasing.

Worst Features

Cruise control stalk is poorly placed-- Lexus design (or even Ford) is better. Also computer/stereo controls are a bit difficult to learn and manipulate.
