Hello car_man, Would you happen to know what Mercedes' best money factor is on a 2006 CPO CLS55 10,000/year with no down payment and perfect credit? Thanks, - Max
Need some help from someone more knowledgeable than me. I am looking at a 2006 CLS 500 with Premium package/ Navigation and the AMG Sports package. The dealers quoted $55,000. I was wondering if its worth paying cash down for it and driving it for a year and then selling it off. The other option is a loan and that payment is $938 a month. Would it better to buy, own, ... Press Release Mercedes sold 248,080 vehicles in 2006 including 146 Maybachs. Surprisingly with all the new models compared to Dec 2005 sales were down 10 percent on a month vs. month basic for Dec. M
I don't know how to start a new post. I didn't see a topic with Mercedes CLS500. I am contemplating purchasing a 2006 Mercedes CLS 500. The dealer says he's giving me a good deal, but the 2006 costs just as much as the 2007. Granted the 2006 only has 41 miles and has more features like navigation and electric trunk closer, but the 2007 has more horsepower and is newer ... Read More

Both AMG models accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h. The latest version of the CL-Class is making its public debut under the slogan "The Virtuoso Luxury Coupé". Mercedes-Benz at the Paris Motor Show 2006 M
I have been goin crazy every dealer tells me something different so I REALLY need some sound advice here. I am looking to lease a 2006 or 2007 Mercedes CLS Okay, heres the problem. 1 dealer tells me to make payments less is better to lease 06 for 27 months AND another tells me no, no no better ro get the 07 for 39? I am real confused, I am was ... Read More
Sales were up 21+ percent for May 2006 vs. May 2005. The S,E,R,SL,SLK and new GL were all responsible for this huge gain. Dealers must be giving away 06' E-Classes ahead of the new 07' model arriving at the end of June. The R-Class moved only 1400 or so units, still not up to what MB needs in order to meet their goal of 20K a year. The GL was the ... Read More
Worldcarfans (in the Germancar section) has a timeline for upcoming Mercedes 2007 (in the U.S.) model introductions. Don't get ... Read More
Well there a couple of Benz salespeople that chime in on the R-Class board from time to time that have hinted that a major re-shuffle of the R-Class' standard/optional equipment is on tap for the 2007 model year. This would be in repsonse to slow R-Class sales. Just a guess at this point. Yes I have read (Automobile Magazine) that a R320 CDI will show up here before the end of ... Read More
I'm reading now on GCZ (GermanCarZone) that Mercedes is going to show a direct-injection version of the 3.5L V6. It produces 292hp (288 in the U.S.)/270 lb-ft torque in the facelifted E350 with a projected 26.6 MPG rating. Just like always expect this engine to spread to all the "350" models before the end of 2006. When I see something offical I'll post it here of course. This was taken from ... Read More

The CLK55 Coupe was dropped for 2006. No word on wether or not we'll get the CLK63 Coupe. Also the CLS63 AMG: In short: 515hp and 465lb-ft of torque, replaced the CLS55 AMG. More hp, less torque, but more ... Read More
Correct on all counts. Going to be a long year for the C-Class. The only thing that will save it from falling complete off the charts is that it finally has some great engines that are competitive with the class. Up next SL (facelift already been shown), E-Class facelift and the CL. All of these should be on the stand at Geneva the first week of March. M
2005 was the tough year. The S has arrived to help out in 06. I predict Mercedes will have its 13th consecutive sales increase this year: something in the order of 240,000+ units. The facelifted E only needs to gain a bit of traction to beat 2005 totals. The C is the weak link in the chain for the next two years.
Sales are in for the U.S. for 2005 - 224,421 units, up 1.3% vs 2004. 2005 MBUSA Sales All the work was done by the ML, CLS and SLK. C-Class did post the highest sales month on record for Dec 2005. The new R-Class did contribute also, finally posting a decent number for Dec 2005 - 2,430 units. Maybach is floundering to put it lightly. Mercedes actually sold more SLRs and ... Read More
Yep, 2006 is going to be a big year for MB I predict. They have a decent amount of new and/or facelifted product coming and every V8 will be upgraded at some point like the V6s were this year. New managment at the wheel should be a big plus. Since the S-Class seems to be a hit elsewhere in the world I'm sure they wait breathlessly to see how it will ... Read More
Man that is a torrent of new cars-engines...I am particularly curious about the new S...I feel it will be winner on the technology front, but still have reservations on the wheel arches...It is hard to imagine that many minds just doing the arches for no purpose...One small thing that my Audi has, that I would never have thought to be meaningful, is the adjustable arm rests...I have found them to be ... So far we know about the new S-Class - S450, S550, S600 and now the S65 (which should be here by late summer). The new GL-Class - GL450 is only model slated for the U.S. so far, can't see why we won't get the larger V8 GL500 (GL550 in the U.S.). On sale in late March/early April. At some point over the next 6 months the CLK500, E500, CLS500, R500, and ... Read More
Well the CLS500 will most definitiely become the CLS550 for the 2007 model year. Since the S is the first to have this new engine I would exepect than any CLS models ordered past Feb-March 2006 will be the a 2007 model, just a guess. M
Ok, I'll bite. What's up with the 2.5L, 200HP C230? Why isn't it the C250? Are they trying to be like Lexus with a 2.5? Nothing to do with Lexus. The 2.5L V6 has been out in Europe since spring long before the IS250. I'm glad they didn't call it a "250" at this point to avoid confusion. I suspect that when the next C comes along it will be called ... Read More
An overview of the next 12 months: C-Class - Nothing but a long road ahead in the face of a new 3-Series and Lexus IS. New engines, all V6s will help maintain for 2006, but the 2007 model year will be a long one. Autoweek is reporting that AMG has built a few C63 AMGs, but I doubt we'll see the new AMG V8 in the current C-Class body. E-Class - ... Read More
Wow, a new lease question discussion that I didn't even notice. Sorry for the delay in my response, csanchez. Let's calculate a lease payment on the car that you are interested in using Mercedes-Benz Credit's actual lease program and see what we come up with. Sales were down 1.8 percent for May 2005 compared to May 2004. It seems that every Mercedes that isn't new is dropping and the brand new ones continue to post big gains. Details Here The CLS it seems continues to eat into the E-Class' sales. The SLK and M-Class were up 119.4% and 66.2% respectively compared to May 2004. The CLS sold 1550 units while the E-Class sold 3569 units (down ... Read More

Thanks!!! Well I've done my part. I've written letters and even talked with Maybach and Mercedes reps at various autoshows (mainly Detroit where I really did have an important ear for a few minutes), but its up to them now. They seem to at the very least know that they have a problem. I've read the statement about earnings and 1 Billion (gulp!) of that was for Smart, which I say ... Read More

I'm most sure that that the 2006 SL won't see any changes, but the 2007 model will including a new V8. The U.S. market won't see the SL350 either. SL and CL are V8s only and upper V8s at that. No V6s or small V8 engines in this market. Stroudman, On my usual Sunday stroll through the local Benz lot I noticed today that the dealer here has every version of ... Read More
Mercedes-Benz plans to build special high-performance AMG editions of virtually all of its future vehicles, including its upcoming CLS-class four-door "coupe." The CLS-class goes on sale later this year in Europe, and should reach U.S. dealers in early 2005. But Mercedes has an ... Read More
