2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class CLK500 2dr Coupe (5.0L 8cyl 5A)

Review

This has been a treat. I did the
European delivery program and the trip
was amazing. I feel bad that we have
speed limits in America. This car was
phenomenal on the autobahn. AT 130mph,
I put it on cruise control and I could
take any curve easily. The stability
on it was amazing and I loved racing
with BMWs and blowing the hell out of
them. I did pay the price as I had to
gas every day for over $100 each time
but it was worth it.

Best Features

The navigation system and the cruise control are amazing. The electric brakes are amazing once you know how to control them

Worst Features

The CLK55 needs a bigger engine because the difference between this clk500 and the clk55 is not enough to warrant $25000

2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class CLK320 2dr Coupe (3.2L 6cyl 5A)

Review

This is now my second CLK320 Coupe. My
first was a 2000 CLK320. This is turning into
my worst nightmare. My first CLK was in and
out of the workshop, and now in my 3rd
week of ownership of my 2004 CLK320, I
have to make it into the dealership b/c my
lighting cluster (which houses my sunroof
operation) is completely out. I can't close my
sunroof! I think now (although I'm a huge M-
B fan) I've lost complete faith in the
company. This will most definitely be my last
mercedes.

Best Features

Great ride. A lot more rigid than the previous outgoing model. Exterior design rocks!

Worst Features

RELIABILITY! I've had my car for 3 weeks now.I shouldn't have to sit at the M-B dealership.... Getting in and out of the rear seats is impossible. Sometimes the seat won't move up all the way, whilst other times it will. GO back to the old power move design.

2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class CLK500 2dr Coupe (5.0L 8cyl 5A)

Review

Not as aggressive as BMW, not as soft as
Lexus. Great combination of performnce and
Luxury in a super attractive package.
Looked at this car because ticked off at
BMW service over petty problem...now glad
of it! Still, nothing quite handles like BMW,
CLK comes close and is much, much more
functional. PLUS< DEALER WILLING TO
NEGOTIATE unlike BMW who always seem
to have take it or leave it attitude, even with
current owners(used to be 2 in our case)

Best Features

Style, acceleration, open feeling, fold down rear seats.

Worst Features

all the things the Germans traditionally ignore...cupholders, up to date electronics, etc.

2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class CLK320 2dr Coupe (3.2L 6cyl 5A)

Review

A beauty to look at. Fuel economy is
good / Los Angeles to San Jose on 1
tank of gas in 105 degree heat. Bose
system sounds great.

Note: Don't get the keyless go as
you'll burn your fingers on a hot
summer day.

Peeves: No in dash CD player (can't
even recognize CD-RW for that matter)
Road noise on concrete freeway
overpasses

Best Features

styling, no b-pillar, more roomy than 3- series or G35

Worst Features

In-dash CD player for MP3 / CD-RW Another cup holder for driver.
