I'm not a big car enthusiast. Back in 2006, I was reading these forums for Audi and BMW but in the end bought a Honda because I knew I wasn't going to be driving much -- the 7 year old Honda has just over 23k miles. However, I'm thinking of getting something better and one thing that might drive my choice would be what kind of European Delivery program the manufacturer ... Read More

I think everything evolves in cycles. For a while (2004 through 2006), Acura was arguably #2 in this segment under BMW. Audi was overshadowed by BMW, Infiniti was showing promise as a Japanese BMW alternative, and M-B wasn't an enthusiasts choice. Cadillac was showing promise and Lexus was failing as a Japanese BMW alternative. Today, Audi is tops and Infiniti is arguable #2 being the best bang-for-the-buck choice in the segment. ... Read More

Pretty much here in the northeast (ny, nj, ct, ma) every luxury, performance car sold is AWD. Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Lexus... I've literally seen maybe 4 IS350s total since the car came out in 2006.
Add me to the list of dissatisfied Mercedes owners. I too own a 2006 C230 and started having issues with it. Periodically the car would lose acceleration and RPMS would be high and the vehicle would jerk when I tried changing gears. I got a call from the one dealer today that said they are wanting to open negotiations again on the one they came down to 30,400. It is the one with Xenon, etc, I posted above. So I assume they will say 30k with the certified warranty. It sticked new for 36,190 like I said before. I hear th gas mileage is better on the 2005 but that really is not ... Read More
Anyone know if dealers in Dallas will go below MSRP for the 2006 C230 Sport? I keep getting the story that no dealers in Dallas will move. Best I could find was $500 under, and that was not through Mercedes.
Hi lacoast. This car's lease program varies depending upon how long you lease it for and how many miles per year you are allowed to drive it. Mercedes' most attractive lease term is usually 39 months so for now I will provide you with the info for that term and for a lease with the common mileage allowance of 15,000 miles per year. Let me know if you want something different. ... Read More
I have been looking at both the BMW 325i and the Mercedes C230 sport. In our area (which is Austin Texas) you just can't find a decent price on a BMW. Dealers want full book and just won't budge. We liked the Mercedes after driving it so decided the 2005 might be the way to go but again, everyone wants full book! I found one that gave the certified warranty so ... Read More
Can you tell me what the money factor is for March on a 2006 C230 sedan. Also, what is the bank fee and residual value? Selling price of $31,049 I was quoted 2.8 MF, and $1095 bank fee.
You're very welcome, Michael. A base 2006 C280 Sedan with 4Matic has a spread of around $2,400 between its full MSRP and dealer invoice prices. You are being given a discount of $1,000 on the car that you are interested in. If you are in an area where there is a decent level of competition for your business, i.e several Mercedes dealers, I would not be surprised if you were able ... Read More
I am curious if anyone can give me any advice on repair costs on Mercedes? I have a 2002 that is off warranty in Feb 2006, and wonder if they "see us coming" so to speak and charge a lot for repairs. I know when the dealership changed the oil, which was part of the Service A visit, on paper it showed $90 in charges. Is that something an owner can ... Read More
A close friend of mine do own a 2005 c230 Krompressor, so far he has no problems with the car, but he bought it brand new. Some people do complaint the car is a little noisy since it is a Krompressor, but that didn't bother my fiend, since it did save him a lot on gas mileage. As far as the handling, it is quite good, it feels very similar to ... Read More

According to the latest information that I have seen, if you were to lease a 2006 Mercedes-Benz C230 Sports Sedan through Mercedes-Benz Credit right now for 39 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00295 and 62%, respectively. As you thought, the money factor that you were quoted is a little high - assuming that you qualify for Mercedes-Benz ... Read More

I had a 2004 Maxima. I wanted a little more luxury. I drove the 2006 Mercedes C350 three times, ordered one and put a $4000 deposit on it in September. It was still not built as of 12/31/05. My neighbor suggested I look at the 2006 VW Passat 3.6L. I laughed at him, but went for a test drive anyway. It was equal to or better than the Mercedes across the ... Read More

I have a 2004 c240 4 matic wagon. I've seen official numbers on European dealer sites showing 9.3 seconds for 0-100km per hour - I think that translates to around 9 seconds for 0-60 mph. The car though is very, very strong in the 50-70 mph acceleration task. Sorry, I don't have actual figures, just reporting on the driving experience. Also just a fantastic car at highway, and high highway speeds. ... Read More
That is simply not correct! I had done this analysis before purchasing my MB, and wanted to share pricing/features of BMW 330i v/s BM C-350 Sport. The models were "built" via their web sites. Comparable options have been loaded. Of course people have their preferences for ride quality, looks etc. Moreover, the C-class can be easily obtained at NEAR invoice price, while BMW cannot...for me this tilted the net price difference ... /direct/view/.efdc5b2/31 I would be very interested in your folks' thoughts at this other thread: Best car (used or new) for $40,000 the basic parameters are: sporty, nice freeway drive, seats 4, and gets at least 28 mpg. Since we're spending 40k, I probably don't need to specify "luxury" as most offerings at that price are going to have at least a minimum of luxury feel. 2003 530 Acura TL Cadillac CTS ... Read More
I tested my new 2006 Mercedes C-350 Luxury (w/o 4Matic) for mileage at a rock-steady 65 mph on level freeway (cruise controlled) and clocked an amazing 34.1 mpg within 22 miles! It may have exceeded this, but my commute destination had already arrived...But with my normally unhealthy driving habits (rush-centric), I am averaging about 24.5 mpg. The car is officially rated 20/29 on city/freeway. I have yet to complete 1 month ... Read More

Hi Blease. The Mercedes-Benz lease program for the 2006 C280 without 4Matic is a little worse than the program for ones equipped with this option. Mercedes-Benz Credit's current 36 or 39 month buy rate lease money factor for a 2006 2WD C280 is .00230. Unfortunately, I am aware of the annoying way that Texas calculates sales tax on leased vehicles. Many Texas residents get around the high sales tax that is ... Read More
