Pretty much here in the northeast (ny, nj, ct, ma) every luxury, performance car sold is AWD. Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Lexus... I've literally seen maybe 4 IS350s total since the car came out in 2006.

Periodically the car would lose acceleration and RPMS would be high and the vehicle would jerk when I tried changing gears. 2006 C230 I had the same problem at 68000 miles. After I've replaced several sensors, including camshaft sensors etc., they finally ruled that the problem must be deep insided the engine. They took the engine completely apart, replaced a gear, the balance shaft and the timing chain. Total repair was over 5000 dollars, including 4000 dollars in labor. 2006 mercedes c230 p2188 & p2190 code
Recently received a 2006 Mercedes c230 into our shop. We retrieved a p2188 & p2190 codes. The codes are listed as rich condition at idle at start up, bank 1 and bank 2. The customer says that when he first starts the car, the idle goes up and down a few times, then smooths out. Has anybody come across this and has fixed the problem?

Well the head gasket explanation is nonsense but if the smoke is WHITE it could very well be condensation that is burning off into steam. But if the smoke is actually BLUE, and lingers in the air (steam disappears instantly), then it's oil that is being burned and you have a problem. I made a typo on what I paid. I said 3k off but I wrote the price of 2k off. I paid 31,975 and it stickered like I said for 34,985 so not bad.
