The "headlining" surrounding the bonnet release under the dashboard in my C200K Coupe (2004) keeps dropping into the footwell. It is a shaped piece of trim backed with thick felt. It is crazy. I just did a quick search. A remanufactured tranny for a 2004 G35 is $2250. I'm sure a new one is north of $4000. The reality is the typical G35 nor the typical Mercedes is not going to need a transmission for the life of the car. There are always the exceptions on both side. I can only tell you what I have read in many car mags, the Jags are notorious for electrical problems, even new ones. I just bought a 2008 C300 and I just love it. So in my opinion, go for the Benz. Good luck.

Driven it to Fla 2 times, Ga 2 times , Vt, etc. It gets 20mpg putting around town and 30+ mpg on the highway at 80mph in complete safety and luxury. I have a 2004 c240 4 matic wagon. I've seen official numbers on European dealer sites showing 9.3 seconds for 0-100km per hour - I think that translates to around 9 seconds for 0-60 mph. I am in love with this car! Has anyone recently purchased one? I would be interested to know what kind of pricing and APR % they got. Comming from a 2004 Accord EX V6 Sedan, Mercedes doesnt include much as far as standard equipment. Things like metallic paint, heated seats, sunroof, and CD changer are standard on a Honda but optional on a Mercedes. Anyway, any help would be appriciated.
