This car is still a blast to drive. The fuel economy is good for the power available, but it depends on how you drive it. When you want the performance it is there, when you don't it is a fuel sipping V6. I considered getting a new car, but why, this car is still amazing. Every time I hit the gas from a stop a smile comes over my face. I had a couple of minor electrical issues that occurred just before the car was out of warranty (6 disk cd changer stopped working, drivers heated seat didn't heat, and the visor vanity mirror light would come on when the visor was lowered because the mirror cover would open slightly). The dealer took care of them and The car has been very reliable since.
Acceleration, brakes, overall performance! Stability control... thankful when it steps in. One touch windows (all four and sunroof). Holds a family of four with ease when required. Doesn't seem to attract unwanted attention. Did I mention performance.
The navigation system is poor, todays portable navigation systems are much better. The front rims extend past the sidewall of the tire which makes it easier to scuff them when parking next to curbs and car washes with wheel guides.
Wolf is sheeps clothing is how I would describe this car. Interior and gas mileage are the only non-perfect things on this car. Interior needs in -dash CD player some of the controls are overly complicated with no apperent reason but the interior is still very nice compared to Acura or BMW. Gas mileage is just a result of being able to go as fast as most Corvettes and the goverened top speed is easily attained. If you have a family and want to have the ultimate car experience and can't afford a Merecedes Benz CLS AMG then this is your car.
Engine, transmission, general qualtiy of the car and handling/comfortable ride combination is unmatched.
In dash CD player, less complicated controls and keep up the great work!
I have had my 2003 Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG for a little over six months. I love the engine, it seems to be put together rather well (I haven't had any problems in 4,000 miles), but the interior is awful. The ac/heater/wiper/c.control/pwr seat controls are worse than in the 1990 Nissan that I had. The cup holder is only symbolic, the lack of navigation and an in dash multi disk CD player is absurd at these price levels. If I could have taken my 2001 Saab's interior and put it into this car it would be perfect. Fortunately as soon as you put your foot down the thing takes off!
The engine, taut steering, build quality (so far), very good transmission, and engine sound.
Completely redesign the interior (copy Audi or Saab if needed) and make the rear seats a bit bigger. Get the seat controls off the door, make navigation and variable speed wipers standard. The seats need lumbar support! Again my 1990 Nissan Pathfinder had a better / more useful interior.
The car is an absolute joy to own/drive. Many people who ride in it can't believe that it is "only a V6." I tested this against the M3 and honestly it just came down to the extra 2 doors. You couldn't go wrong with either one.
The engine is just unreal. It won't blow you away but it will always put a smile on your face. Also I found the handling and comfort levels to be very good.
The stereo is a little weak for this type of vehicle and they seemed to have addressed that with the C55. But overall, there are very few complaints about this car.
