I caught this bright red beauty a year
ago at a local Ford dealer for an
awesome price and have never regretted
the choice. Even though it's "only" a
2.2 liter four, the performance is
amazing. Fuel economy is 25 around
town and I've hit as high as 35 on the
highway and average 30 overall. The
only mechanical gripe is the Check
Engine light which has been on and off
since I bought it. The local MB dealer
charged a single $37.50 diagnostic fee
and has had it on the computer several
times (at no additional charge!) but
still can't figure out what's causing
it. He drove it and pronounced it
healthy so I'll live with it until he
figures it out.
It's a Benz -- 'nuff said! Uses NO oil
between 5000 mile changes! The MB
dealer's labor rates are the lowest in
town! Smooth interstate cruiser but
handles the twisties like a sports car!
That Check Engine light is annoying.
The infra-red remote keyfob stinks --
and is grossly over-priced. MB should
also lose the old cartridge oil
filters; it's a pain to change and
overpriced. There's no reason to not
use a spin-on unit these days.
