Looks nice, runs great. Comfy ride; definitely "trucky," but not bouncy or harsh. Good legroom for tall people. Handles nicely in any situation. Good winter driving. Love the power of the 4- liter V6. I've towed pretty close to 3000 pounds up the Columbia Gorge, and it shows no signs of strain; spooling up from 50 to 75 passing a slow semi uphill? No problem, not even with a fully loaded trailer.

This has been a terrific truck. I used it for work for about 5 years and it hasn't been babied. It stays outside year round in the hot Florida sun beachside. Other than 2 sets of tires, a battery, regular oil changes and a set of spark plugs, have not had to do another thing to it and it has run like a top since day one. The paint is fading and it is about due for some body work and bigger maintenance, but I am prepared to put a few thousand into it to keep it around another 5 years. I love this truck THAT much.

This truck is packed full of features. I went for the 6 cyl and I am pleased I did. The 4 cyl was not as strong and I wanted to haul my enclosed trailer with it. Would I buy another? Yes!

First the cons; small for those over 6', fuel economy is lacking for a small v6, DS should come standard with a limited slip and tow package, should have 6spd manual (mileage and towing would benefit), horrible Goodyear Wrangler GT/S's that come on it, a more Mazda/less Ford interior would be nice, seats are too firm for long trips(pad fixes this) . Now PROS; RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, RELIABILITY, did I mention it's been reliable? Only issue in 78,xxx + was a sensor @ 5k that was replaced under warranty with no qualms. Paint still looks new, front brakes lasted for 50k, clutch is still great, engine still peppy (although more power would be great). Great deal considering cost vs other ops.

I have enjoyed the little truck. Great for running around town, yard work, trash, etc. Gets 27 MPG with 5 speed.

This vehicle has been a great vehicle. Not only does it have a sporty look but it has the power and versatility you would expect in such a vehicle. I have hauled mountains of wood pellets, sheet rock and other building materials. I have no need for a bigger truck. Don't be afraid to try the manual transmission. Put the money somewhere else.

I bought this truck new in AZ, no trouble with a/c, cold even at +117 degrees! It's a stick: could use more zip doing mountains, fine if you don't get stuck behind a slow truck and have to accelerate from 30 mph on 6000ft grade. Moved to Indiana, heater warms quickly, far less traction problems than full size van I drove. Not one mechanical problem, piled it high for move, over 2500 miles, very stable in winds, rain; good fuel economy with the extreme gas prices. Very nice turning ratio, good visibility overall.

Very fit for purpose. I stole it for
$10,900. Use it for towing an aluminum
fishing boat and to haul gear on long
trips to my sailboat in Florida. 30 mpg
at 75 mph(!) and I never get less than
25 mpg around town :). I'm 6' 2" and
find it very comfortable and roomy. AC
will blow you away, even in New Orleans
heat. I was looking for a used beater to
limit miles on my Vette but couldn't
find a decent one for much less than the
B2300 new. Yeah, it's light on power
(anything is compared to my #1) but the
fuel efficiency is welcome with gas @ $2+.

This is the second Mazda pickup that I
bought. It will be the last! A good
friend of mine sells these trucks. If
not for the good deal, I'd be worse off.
These trucks DO NOT HOLD THEIR VALUE.
Stay away. You won't even be able to
trade them in. Not great on gas and has
poor performance. Also, it is the worst
vehicle that I've ever driven on wet or
snowy roads. I never thought I'd say
it, but if you want a small truck, buy a
Ford or Chevy. They actually hold their
value better. I paid $16,000.00 for a
2003 and was offered $5,000.00 on a
trade from the dealer that I bought it
from. And, my truck is clean. Never again!

This is the fourth Mazda PU I have
owned, starting with a '89 model. I was
originally interested in economy and
utility of a small pick-up and Mazda's
extended warranty(then, 50,000 miles)
was the deciding feature for me. The
first two('89 & '95) were driven over
80000 miles, the last one('99), over
100,000 with no problems. My '03 is very
sporty and came with a 100,000 mile
warranty, which I plan to use to the
fullest. Economy ranges from 23 to 26 mpg.
