I will NEVER buy a Mazda again after the transmission went out on my 2006 WELL MAINTAINED Mazda Tribute with 46,000 miles!! After having it towed to the dealer they tried to get Mazda to cover it under the 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Mazda refused to cover it. The dealer quoted a price of 3800.00. With a price that high, I chose to have it towed to another service facility who ... Read More
I bought a used 2006 Mazda Tribute in June 2010. The first problem I noticed was on a trip in October. After driving on the interstate for about 100 miles, I pulled over to let my niece drive. Before I could put the car in park, it died. I could restart it fine, but when I put it into gear, it would die again. I had NO IDEA what it might ... Read More
Interesting string of rants. I have a 2006 I4 Tribute with 73K miles on it, the automatic transmission started bucking and jumping two weeks ago. Six weeks ago the repair shop I use refused to service the transmission at the last oil change because they feared a battle if there was a problem with the transmission. Last night my daughter & I discussed her homework in Economics class. I chose to ... Read More

Bmrich, It has been my experience that there is a problem with the transmission in both the tribute and the escape (sister vehicles). Google "escape transmissions" and you will discover what I am speaking off. There are a number of reported issues. This was the first time I did all the serice work by the book (typically I do the work myself, but on this vehicle I had the dealership perform ... Read More

Just to brag a bit, I helped my daughter purchase a 2006 Mazda Tribute in December 2006. Undecided for months, we stopped at an Edmond Ok. dealer, and she fell in love with a Steel Grey V6 Model. It had color coded panels, and even had a set of ENKI 18" Wheels. We didn't care about the wheels, so we negotiaged a price without them. It was almost the new year, ... Read More
We like the hybrid Tribute Grand Touring because it has all the options on it you could want including navigation and roof venting . The Mazda hybrid Tribute is much nicer than the Escape hybrid or the hybrid Mariner in terms of interior appointments. We bought in Feb, 2008 in California when a limited inventory of this new SUV was sold only in California. We put it on a car carrier ... Read More
I just wanted to know if the bumper for a Ford Escape will fit to a 2006 Mazda Tribute. I'm looking for the front and rear bumpers and for the trunk door. I just wanted to know if the parts will fit because I need to replace them and I found some cheap Ford Escape parts. Thanks for your help.
I purchased a 2006 MAZDA TRIBUTE I on Dec 2006. It is a 4 DR., 2.3L L4 PFI DOHC 16V / 4 WHEEL DRIVE. I live at Nebraska and the temp in Jan and Feb 2007 is about -10F to 10F. The standard MPG is 21/24 for city/highway, however, my city/highway MPG is only about 14.x/16.x using #87 gas and current odometer reader is 2000 miles. Is it normal, especially for ... Read More
Thanks for the reply JJF. Much appreciated. I might try squeezing a little more. Have a Merry Christmas! Guard
19,975 is about 7400 off msrp, provided no big fees or anything. I've seen numerous dealer ads on motoralley.com advertising 6500-7200 off, so you are on the high range (of $ off, which is good.) Trouble is, these discounts will probably be reflected in the blue book values next year, so you still may want to hit about 10 dealers by email fax eom to see if it can be beat ... Read More

Wasn't sure if this forum was still being used? Looking for monthly payments (approx) for the 2006 Tribute S 2WD. MSRP is $23,790. We have the S-Plan discount and are looking at 36 or 48 months/12,000 miles with 0 down payment. Thought it would be no hassle with the Splan but we are finding different prices and not the discount we expected. Thanks!
Hello Cartalk In June of this year (2006) we purchased a 2002 Mazda Tribute. About a week later we was trying to back out of a parking lot on a very slight incline and it would not backup at all. It seemed to go into reverse but it would not backup the RPMs would rev but the vehicle would not move. After putting into drive and inching forward we was able ... Read More
Took delivery last week on a new Tribute in Platinum Metallic. Only option on ours was SAB/SAC. Invoice price $24,495. Price paid with rebates was $20,545. We were offered an additional $500 rebate for financing with Mazda Credit, but declined as it was linked to a 9.5%/48 interest rate. We financed through a local bank instead and saved almost 3.0%.
I own a 2006 Mazda Tribute. I am looking to installa Pioneer system. I am told that i need a installation kit, to properly install the new system. I can't seem to locate this kit.
Hi Ben. Here's the info that you are looking for. If you were to lease a 2006 Mazda Tribute S 2WD through Mazda Credit right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00224 and 51%, respectively. Using these numbers, an MSRP of $26,590, and a selling price of $25,348, I estimate that this truck should have a zero ... Read More

Does anyone know where i can get, front grille guards and rear bumper guards?
We recently purchased a 2006 Mazda Tribute and really like it except for the wind sounds. The wind sounds are heard primarily after 55mph and at the upper right rear of the vehicle. It was taken back to the dealer and their thoughts on the problem involved the luggage rack. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
hi prosa, purchased the mazda tribute 2006 2wd s package 3 here in palm beach about 1 month ago. msrp $27,745 invoice $25,961, bought it for $23,700. so at $23,746 for a 4wd you are getting a very good deal. i love the vehicle. i had a 2001 ford escape v-6 that i put 130,000 trouble free miles on. the only disappointment i have is that other than the bells and ... You probably could have done a lot better on the 2005 model with all the rebates and finance incentives. If you paid MSRP, then yes, you paid too much. If you go to the Edmunds New cars, then check out the exact model you purchased against the edmunds prices...MSRP vs Invoice....and make sure you price all the exact options that you received....then you will have a much better idea as to ... I, hereby and furthermore, refuse to answer any questions that are typed in "CAPITAL LETTERS".....and furthermore, why ask if you received a "good deal" after you already bought the vehicle. The time to ask is before you buy and give us all the info beforehand!

This is the first car I’ve purchased since getting my internet connection in 1998 and my take on online car buying is: If you want the lowest price you need to know beforehand EXACTLY what you want and let the dealer know you’re ready buy NOW; don’t ask for three demo drives in the same car, wait for weeks to decide and then expect a great price. My philosophy is that ... Read More
I’ve been using Edmunds.com, including these user postings, as well other sources to make a new car purchase decision and figure out a target price.
