I have a 2001 Ford Escape which I LOVE. Unfortunately the transmission is starting to go so I started looking for something to replace it. I found a 2002 Mazda Tribute which is a lot like my Escape only has more toys and bigger tires so it feels bigger. I need to decide by Wed. that's 2 days if I want it... Hi! Snowman. the car dealers are no different here in the England. i am having trouble with engine mounts on my 2002 tribute 3lt lx auto. over here you can only get parts through Mazda dealerships and they are a real rip off. i can do most things like that myself.but have just renewed the rear engine mount through the nearest dealer and the price was astronomical. ... Replaced front drivers side Wheel bearing but when turning to the left it still wobbles, all but three inside door handles are broke (which happened in less then a year) Water light stays on, engine light stays on, ABS light stays on, back hatch latch only works some times. I have been experiencing a rough idle for several months on my on my 2002 LX Tribute. The last time this happened (last year) I cleaned, then finally replaced the IAC valve, which worked great. I just found out that I need to replace the #1 and #6 ignition coils on my 2002 LX Tribute. The idle and misfiring problem I have feels very similar to when I replaced the IAC valve, which was easy and painless. The check engine light never came on either time, which surprised me. I have a 2002 Tribute LX V-6 with 122K that is well maintained and has been running fine. Unexpectedly, the steering wheel started to shake at 65 mph, the engine felt like it was running rough at 1800 rpm and below (but the engine was smooth above 1800 rpm), and the Check Engine light started to flash.
