2004 Mazda RX-8 Automatic 4dr Coupe (1.3L 2rtr 4A)
I love this car so much have had the 350Z and other
sports cars...but the style is amazing on this
car..much nicer then my BMW's.
Its fast and sleek....and its a 4 seater...only draw
back is gas.... it eats it like a vette..
interior black and red leather, the color of the dash
and the bose and pop up Navagation
AC is sluggish...have read this 100 times..here in
florida traffic is tough...so long lights..kick the AC
Once I test drove one, I simply had to
own it. Car is an absolute blast to
drive. It drives like it's on rails,
yet is very smooth and comfortable.
Although underpowered compared to other
sports coupes, it offers a very smooth
power band, with the real fun beginning
at 5000rpms. Just an overall wonderful
daily sports coupe with so many
wonderful features and plenty of power
Grand Touring package is a must have.
Bose audio system sounds wonderful. The
6 speed manual transmission with short
throw shifter makes shifting a thrill.
Navigation system is also great to
have. I love all the features, since
there are so many of them.
Improve fuel economy, as thing thing
guzzles gas. The good chance of
flooding car if you start car and shut
it off before fully warmed up is
something they need to address. Improve
low mid range power. Mazdaspeed rx8 is
a must for 2006.
Awesome driving experience. Constant
acceleration through all gears. But I
feel slighted by Ford by advertising 18-
24 miles per gallon. I have yet to get
more than 14 and my commute is solely
highway. Supposedly this will improve
in time, but I doubt I will ever see 24
mpg. The interior is well designed,
aesthetically speaking, but the
materials are cheap and the door panels
are easily marked. Acceleration off the
line is a bit weak.
Acceleration from 50-70 mph. Handling.
Four seats (I have a child).
The car is fun to drive, but the gear
ratios are so close it seems to have a
few too many gears. It would be nice if
there were some adjustment so that 4th
& 5th gears could be used for city
driving and 6th used for >50 MPH. The
cost for fuel (due to the need for
premium grade coupled with the poor gas
mileage) is ridiculous. It is like
driving a full-size SUV!
Looks & handling are great
1- Better adjustment of steering column.
2- Improved gas mileage.
3- Possibility to use regular unleaded
4- The delaer mentioned several times
the possibility to flood the engine by
shutting it down before it has fully
