An exciting car to drive, despite the lack of horsepower.
Has the advantage but also disadvantages of a convertible.
Advantage: top down+summer afternoons = heaven on earth.
Disadvantage: More moving parts/joints = more creaks, leaks, and breaks, sub-par sound insulation, increased cost and weight with decreased rigidity.
Supposedly has a manual shifter from heaven, but I live in a city with traffic from hell (LA) so opted for the auto, which I've learned to love, especially with the paddle shifter and engine braking capability.
Compactness of the car has taught me to make do with less.
Awesome handling and braking (as everyone probably knows so no need to delve into it).
Gets 35.6 mpg on highway with cruise control set between 70 to 75 mph and some serious hill climbs/wind and with the a.c. on -- all on 87 octane gas.
Avg about 27.5 mpg with mixed city/hwy driving.
Great looking car -- I still stare at it after 6 months.
In sufficient horsepower to match the handling, braking, and overall performance of the car.
Where's the turbo engine, Mazda?
How about a dual clutch auto? No spare tire makes me think twice about driving the car to places like Death Valley.
Lack of usable interior storage spaces (you best be able to contort in order to reach all of them, especially trying to pull the fuel lid latch).
No USB/SD card slot for stereo system.
Cheap signal lights/wind shield wiper control stalks.
POOR rear 3/4 view makes me want to pray each time I change lane or back up.
Mazda really need to do some serious Q.C. with their dealerships in terms of delivery of vehicle and following up with customers.
