Hi New to this too. Got a Mazda MPV 2003, 2ltr Deisel. Have had since 04. Problems. Electrics, driver window stuck down, had motor ,regulator and control unit replaced window now fine £700 later. Possibly a coil, which is on each plug. The blinking CEL indicates a engine misfire in 1 or more cylinders, when it is just on steady, it indicates an emission related code, which could be just a result of the misfire. Hard to say which coil is bad, could be more than 1. They aren't cheap to replace at the dealer, not terribly hard to DIY if you search for instructions. ... Read More...

Hi, I've got an '03 with 138,000 clicks. So far, it's been extremely reliable and we've had no real problems. Now it "shudders' when I'm at a red light and it feels like it's going to stall out. Also acts the same going up a hill. Just had the coolant thermostat and seal replaced, as well as a "platinum plug" (#2 I believe) and the EGR valve gasket replaced because that's ... Read More...

I know exactly what your problem is....its called a AIC valve also known as a Automatic Idle Control Valve and they can be bought from most any parts store...price range 75 to 200 bucks and you can change it out yourself as it sits right on the top of the engine compartment.... its small and it has one elec cord to it I think.....this will fix your car from stall but you ... SAME PROBLEM!!! The dealer acts as if I am crazy. I ended up changing out the #4 plug/coil. I've had several quirky issues with this MPV, which will be my last. There is an electrical problem with my MPV and now I suspect that it is common among the 2003-2004 model years. Now, my A/C is draining the life out of my second battery in 5 years. Well, maybe there are a few bad apples out there with the Honda emblem on them....but I know of a person who owns a 2003 and they love it and my sister has a 2004 Sienna and it is very solid after 160K miles on it. Hello All! I have not posted in a bit about MY problems - latest is the CHECK ENGINE light coming on again! Two times in the past 2 weeks - once for a misfire on #4 plug. but it's had a terrible track record going back to 2002 That's not true. The MPV had a great track record up until late 2004 or 2005. It was one of Consumer Reports top recommended minivans, and reliability was listed as one of the best.
