We wanted first to get a used Odyssey,
but discovered MPV. We did the research
and decided to get it. Drives like a
normal car (actually words of our friend
who had driven it, she drives VW Golf ;
-) ). Enough power, it might downshift
more often when going uphill vhen
loaded, but it still has enough power
not to lag behiond traffic. Easy parking
with it's smaller size. Have a 8k on the
van now and except for that fog light
recall we had no problems.
power sliding door, compact size for
parking, fold down 3rd row seat, slide
by side second row seat, roll down
windows in sliding doors, good handling
have the sklide by side in the second
row on both sides, power lift gate,
integrated head rests in third row for
easier fold down
We have a LX MPV with rear air, roof
rack, rear bumper cover. Traded a 95
Windstar (RIP). We love the MPV so
far. Have 6000 miles. We keep finding
reasons to go places so we can enjoy
Zoom-Zoom. This van has great 'road
The only thing I don't like about the
MPV is that it doesn't have a switch
to turn on all the interior lights. On
our Windstar there was a switch on the
dash brightness control. Sometimes it
would be nice to see what the kids are
doing in the back seat...
We drove all the top rated minivans...
and many times over. We love the luxury
of the Sienna and the boldness of the
Quest, but the driving experience of
the MPV trumped them both. We call it
our SUVan. Initially, I was stuck
on "bigger is better" but the wife
insisted on a tight handling,
economical package that gave us great
touring visibility and luxury and saved
$4-6k. Our loaded ES doesn't miss a
trick. It's ideal for a couple or
family in an urban setting.
Huge moonroof. 17" alloy wheels.
Tumble down 3rd row very easy to use.
Great touring visibility. Sound system
is suprisingly top notch.
A little less wind noise at high speed.
A little more generous driver's left
side arm rest.
VERY HAPPY WITH THIS VEHICLE-TRADED IN
A 99 WINDSTAR WHICH WAS NOTHING BUT
PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM. SO FAR AFTER
18,000 MILES HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS AND
EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE HANDLING, FIT
AND FINISH AND OVERAL RELIABILITY AND
GENERAL BUILD QUALITY. WOULD
DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS VAN AND
WOULD NEVER PURCHASE A FORD PRODUCT
HANDLING, BODY STYLE, FIT AND FINISH,
MILEAGE, SEATING FEATURES, BUILD
QUALITY. DOESN'T FEEL LIKE YOU ARE
DRIVING A VAN.
MAKE IT SLIGHTLY LARGER AND IT WOULD
BE A #1 SELLER!!
