I bought a 2006 Mazda Mpv from a CT dealer for the reduced price stick on the dash board ($20,090) for Invoice price of 25,140 that is MPV LX with options Sun/MOON Roof , Sliding doors , Traction control, side air bags , Rear a/c . So, you had that creeking sound in your steering too! I've had it in my 2003 and seen it from several people on this thread too! Very disturbing and my MN. dealer stated the same thing; Mazda corporate has no fix = NORMAL! $30K for a piece of junk that has more problems with no fixes than my 1995 Dodge Caravan had!!! I have a 1995 MPV that has a very strange brake problem! This MPV has 4 wheel abs brakes & a factory tow package, it has 4 wheel disc brakes. What is happening is this....all 4 brakes are locking up the wheels....whether I drive the vehicle or not....but at night when the outside temperature cools down....all 4 brakes unlock & the wheels all spin freely!. Would it be OK if I compared a '96 MPV to a '04 Sienna then? That is what you are doing when you are comparing a 2000 Elantra to current models--the car debuted in 1995. The thing about Hyundai (and Kia) to keep in mind is that they have made huge strides in just the past few years. I just bought my MPV LX 2002 - midnight blue - with rear a/c, floor mats, roof racks. Got about $2500 off from below invoice. I actually wanted COASTAL BLUE color but I had been looking for over a month ... and they were either ES or LX with spoiler and no rear-a/c. 1. I own a 1995 MPV 4WD and the transmission housing corroded where it sits on the cross-member and broke away. This was due to the contact of the cast aluminum housing with the steel cross-member.
