Nice car...in black only for 03 model...not 03.5 I am partial to it's performance and many impressive add ons that increase it's handling prowess.. IMHO. :)

2003 Mazda Mazdaspeed Protege Sedan New 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

The Mazda MazdaSpeed Protege is, in my opinion, like a hidden gem, no one would expect such power to look at the vehicle, but jump inside and you are in for quite an experience. The stabalizer bar takes some getting used to at first, but as in most racing vehicles, it keeps a tight reign on the steering capacity. Once you hit 45mph, it's smooth sailing, as this is when the turbo kicks in, and you're off to the finish line!! All in all this vehicle is a great adventure for those who like speed without the high cost!

Best Features

The Kenwood, (stock), upgraded stereo system is the bomb! The "no slip" seats. And the fold down back seats for extra carrying space. And last, but not least, the Racing Hart wheels and rims!

Worst Features

Arm rests on the front seats. A back seat console and ashtray!!

2003 Mazda Mazdaspeed Protege Sedan New 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

Just bought it last week so I'm still in the break in period but every indication is that it's a great car and for under $16K it's steal!

Best Features

Wheels, stereo sound, handling

Worst Features

it would have been nice if that offered a sun roof, remote trunk opener, variable wipers and fog lamps.

Review

I have had my cars in the past, even a civic. I can say this is the most fun I have ever had driving. The orange color is so tight I love it. It is fast, and sure it might not be as fast as a WRX STi or a EVO but look at what it comes with in stock trim, Companies like, Sparco, Racing Beat, Tokico, Garrett, Kenwood, Racing Hart, CAN ANY OTHER CAR SAY THE SAME THING????. By the way Injen came out with a cold air intake and this is a MUST, it increases the power by 11 horses, and makes the turbo LOUDER and the Blow off it alot louder as well. Too many Civics, Accords, Acura's. They see me and say "DAMN THAT WAS A MAZDA PROTEGE?"

Best Features

Turbo, Rims, stereo, struts, the whole suspension, OH THE COLOR, I love the orange.

Worst Features

Some more HP, Aluminum Hood.Seats that hold you in better.

2003 Mazda Mazdaspeed Protege Sedan New 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 5M)

Review

Interior components line-up flawlessly into each other. It has usable power anywhere over 1500 RPM and at 3K-3K5 has ample passing power without spinning the turbo extensively. Playing in the off-ramps and curvy roads in SoCal really gets my audrenaline pumping. The car will do whatever you want and feels like the faster you go into a corner, the more accelloration you have to feed it to track (grab) the road. I think to get to the next level of overall balance of power, handling and refinement one would have to get into the $32K price range.

Best Features

Perfect performance suspension (may be a bit harsh for luxury-inclined), power exceeds fuel economy, fit and finish is excellent, driving this care feels like an extention of my body to the road.

Worst Features

The Kenwood deck makes simple audio operation impossible without consulting the manuals, where are the rear speakers and the car is too addictive to be legal!
