2006 Mazda Mazdaspeed Mazda6 Sport 4dr Sport Sedan AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6M)
After owning the Speed6 for over 2 years, I still enjoy it as much as the day I bought it. More, in fact, because I've learned how to drive it properly. It's a bit of a temperamental car with an odd power band. But it is fast, handles very well, and has excellent brakes! It gets just so-so gas mileage, at least if you drive it aggressively. It offers very nice features, such as a Bose stereo, xenon headlights, and auto climate control. You will absolutely need snow tires in cold climates!! All in all, I think this is a great alternative to the more expensive sport sedans out there. Make sure you have the clutch update done. It makes a huge difference in driving comfort!
Engine performance is excellent but quirky. Brakes are outstanding. Stereo is good, but needs an iPod interface. AWD system works great and gives excellent grip in the corners. Auto one touch up and down on all four Windows is awesome!
Kind of pointless since they aren't making it any more, but: soften up the clutch a bit. Change the ridiculous and cheap looking exhaust tips. Don't put a 1 1/2 inch pipe in a 4 inch plastic circle and think you're fooling anyone. Lower the suspension.
