I was kinda curious about the remaining 2013s that you're looking at within 250 miles of SF, so I decided to do a search and check them out. The one that caught my eye as a potential great deal was the 2013 'i' Grand Touring, Steel Blue w/ Black Leather and the only option is the Rear Wing Spoiler. The Sticker Price is $28,980 (since it doesn't have the Tech Pkg ... Read More

After reviewing the standard features on both 2013 Mazda6 Grand Touring models, I agree with you that the Technology Package is nice but not a deal-breaker. Mazda confuses me sometimes with which features they make standard and which are optional. For example, on my 2012 CX-9 GT with a base price of almost $35k, the Bose audio system and Power Moonroof weren’t standard. Those two features cost an extra $2255! But ... Read More
I have heard of people that had two different transmissions replaced 30k to 40k apart. That's hardly "early on". I'm sure it was very, very frustrating to go through one tramsmission replacement after initially being told there was no problem only to have it happen again 30k miles later. But to your point, Honda did eventually live up to it. I follow the Mazda3 in the Edmunds forums here and I ... Read More
I have yet to see one of the road, but the closest Mazda dealer is 45 miles away from me....and another one about 50 miles in the other direction. I know all too well because I bought my last Mazda (2012 CX-9) from one but have it serviced at the other because they're faster and more convenient. Actually, I was at my servicing dealer yesterday with the CX-9. Quick sidebar- If ... Read More
They really did a great job on the interior but the Almond really makes it stand out. I love the way the seats have the black backing and the dashboard/console is still black, but the seats and doors have the two-tone effect. Very upscale and looks better than many cars costing $40k+. The only questionable element is the trim piece that runs across the dash...but I'm sure I could learn to ... Read More
Mazda has a lease deal showing for each trim level of the 2013 Mazda6. For the 2013 s Grand Touring, it is shown as follows- $337/mo for 36mos $2,127 due at lease signing 12k miles per year Based on MSRP of $30,785 Includes $2700 Leasing Bonus Cash and $850 Dealer Contribution. Residual at lease end- $13,057 I've found a VERY tempting deal on a 2012 Mazda6 at one of the dealers ... Read More
That's very good news, thank you for that info! I'm curious, what was the residual value (%) after 36 months? (Assuming that your lease is for 36 months) Also, how much mileage allowance is included in your lease? 10k, 12k or 15k/yr? Or some other amount? Again, I really appreciate the info! I just bought Leasing for Dummies (no kidding) and I'm determined to learn all the ins and outs of ... Read More
Sure dmuniz. Chase's June buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Mazda6 i Grand Touring with 15,000 miles per year in New York are .00004 and 47%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier. The residual value for a lease with 12,000 miles per year would be 1% higher. The 10k residual would be 2% higher. There is a $2,000 ... Read More

On NTSA site I found 10 complaints regarding 2013 Accord (5 about transmission/powertrain and 5 about engine) vs 2 complaints regarding 2013 Ford Fusion ( 1 transmission and 1 engine). Just interesting statistics. I guess people really pissed off go to NTSA website to file a formal complaint. It is also should be safety related. Link is http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov. Mazda6 is too new so I did not look up. For Fusion transmission ... Read More
You have to add TTL with any car be it used, two year old new or brand new model so it's really not a factor except that he would be paying taxes on a lot less of a sale price. ’ve found a dealer here in the metro Atlanta area who has two NEW 2012 Mazda6 s Grand Touring models for almost $10,000 off sticker price. Both have the Technology Package and Navigation System, both have Black Leather interior, the only difference is color- one Silver and the other is Black. Sticker on both is $34,390 and I could buy for $24,495 plus sales tax and $66 in tag/title fees. I’m ... Read More
kyfdx- I do not agree that SKYACTIV engines are on par with V6 variants (obviously), your assessment of what SKYACITV is is way off base. Considering you represent Edmunds, I would assume you would know better. Let me help shed some light on exactly what SKYACTIV Technology is... To start, Mazda did a boat load of engineering to create power trains that increase efficiency and power without sacrificing driving performance. They ... Read More
Does anyone know if the 2014 Mazda 6 manual will be available w/any "premium" options (specifically a sunroof, SiriusXM and paint in a shade other than black, white or gray)? I believe the 2012 LA Auto Show will provide details about the NA Mazda6.
Just read a drive test of the new Mazda6 and they said it goes on sale in Europe later this year and will be selling in U.S. in January. Don't know if that is the official word from Mazda or just the reviewer's estimate. Pictures look great and the article went gaga over the handling. Link below. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/10/05/2014-mazda6-first-drive-review/
Mazda is currently offering 0% 60 mo financing on 2012 Mazda6 and a $1500 manufacturer to dealer incentive. I'm being told that the policy is that I can have either the 0% financing or a $1500 discount. Is that really a Mazda policy? Or simply that the dealer doesn't want to share all or a portion of the incentive? Thanks.
Just watched a video of the 2012 redesigned Camry. I almost threw up. Toyota has already slipped to #3 in sales beaten by GM and VW. By next year they will also be overtaken by the other 2 Koreans KIA and Hyundai. (Considering GM is now number one in sales with a big contribution worldwide from GM Daewoo, another Korean). Toyota and Honda seem to have lost the plot. Love the ... Read More
greyghost- I read the review, and it seems to have better driving dynamics, especially in the handling / steering department. Only their diesel engine is impressive. The 2.5L has decent power but, just like the Jetta, it results in ho-hum real world performance. VW made a point to talk a bout how big it was. I remember when Mazda did the same thing for the 09 Mazda6, and sales have not ... Read More
After reading other issues with Mazda6's... have they changed the 2010, 2011, or 2012 enough to avoid buying a bad car??? My 2007 Chrysler Pacifica just ate itself and I have 12 more payments... due to oil consumption problems that occurred between the 60-65K oil change... they know it's a lemon. But I feel like the fool because I bet the sales guy was internally laughing his ass off for buying ... Read More
Well, you do get a 5/10 year warranty with Kia. I think/hope they have come a long way since the days of the Sephia, etc. I drove an Optima from 2 generations back, as a rental car for a week once and it was terrible. Agree with you on the looks. Kia is making some nice looking (to me) cars. Both the Optima and Forte look good and better to me ... Read More
How much experience has Mazda had with diesel tech? They have been building diesel's for years
How much experience has Mazda had with diesel tech?
I would be a little leary as well of the new tech. Has Mazda used the same tech for awhile overseas and are these just new derivatives or is this pretty much new tech, new engines? From what I have read, they are completely new designs, developed 100% by Mazda.
Yeah, I've been reading some horror stories about the new VW tdi common rail engines and some huge repair bills that are being paid for under warranty. But what about the second time it happens and the car is out of warranty? I would be a little leary as well of the new tech. Has Mazda used the same tech for awhile overseas and are these just new derivatives or is ... Read More
Mazda reliability and diesel MPG could really put pressure on VW to get their act together as long as Mazda doesn't price the hell out them. I'm worried about the price too... There are a few other factors that set off an alarm in my head too. First, the ultra high compression in an aluminum block that had mass taken away for weight saving purposes. Second, these are entirely brand new ... Read More
See here. http://www.autoblog.com/2010/09/01/report-prototype-mazda3-with-2-0l-sky-g-engin- e-gets-30-40-mpg/ The 2.2 D is supposed to get 43 mpg in the Mazda6. Mazda could have some real game changers here. VW has had a stranglehold on buyers that want diesel. Mazda reliability and diesel MPG could really put pressure on VW to get their act together as long as Mazda doesn't price the hell out them.
Very interesting test drive article proclaiming that Mazda will bring a diesel Mazda6 for 2012 MY with about 300 ft/lb of torgue and 43 mpg hwy. Here's a link. http://www.automobilemag.com/green/reviews/1008_2012_mazda_6_diesel_prototype/in- dex.html
Let's see if I can wake everyone up in here! News today came in that Toyota and Mazda are in discussions for Toyota to license hybrid components to Mazda for Mazda Hybrid vehicles. Sources close to the situation report Mazda could have a mass produced hybrid here by 2012-2013. Possibly a Mazda6 Hybrid? That sure would be nice!
The pictures of the interior I saw from the up close spy photos, which looked identical to the JDM/euro Mazda6, with the exception of the steering wheel. The steering wheel seems to be taken from the CX-9. I have not seen official photos yet, however, I'm sure I will get them soon before the rest of you. As for no mtx in the V6, for MY2009, Mazda will not offer it. ... Read More
