Re: Malibu Premium for Transmission [dbostondriver]
I had a conversation with a person in CT over on the Mazda6 forum about the price difference between what new/used Mazda6s went for in the NE US vs. Chicago area. He works for a Mazda dealer and is very familiar with both dealer/auction prices. It was quite eye opening. It appeared that there was several thousand $ difference on both new and used like vehicles between ... Read More...

IPod Integration
Has Mazda improved their IPod integration kit since 2007? I would like to be able to integrate my IPod into a 2009 Mazda6 factory audio system. My girlfriend's CX-7 has the "IPod kit" and its crap. Does not allow you to go from song to song, makes you set up playlists to hear songs, etc. Ideally, I would like to display song info on the Navi screen. Is that possible? ... Read More...
Re: 2009 Mazda 6i vs. 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5 [mz6greyghost]
Your point? My '04 Mazda6 has 72K miles with just about every option, and I've had ONE issue, a faulty gas cap, replaced under warranty. And handling IMO is just as good, since they're both FWD, while saving $$$$ with both the purchase and service/parts. The A6 is AWD, if thats what your talking about. Its almost IMPOSSIBLE to find an A6 in FWD, because with the FWD ... Read More...
Re: 2009 Mazda6 I4 Fuel Economy Test [aviboy97]
No other I4 in this class gets that. I would be highly shocked if Mazda, a company with FE as it's 3rd priority, could accomplish that. I can easily obtain 35 mpg in my 2007 Mazda6 i automatic given the conditions described. 33 mpg for an entire tank from pump to pump including some city driving has been replicated many, many times on trips. If 2009 truly has better ... Read More...
Re: 2 questions on Mazda 6 [aviboy97]
I had thought my A/C was weak in my 2007 Mazda6. I eventually noticed the problem was that it would sometimes cut out when stopped, like it is supposed to do under hard acceleration. The last flash update of the ECU mostly eliminated the problem...it has recurred only once. After the update it seemed like rpms would drop more slowly after stopping. That said the ... Read More...
Re: Mazda6 Reliability [jason777]
My Mazda is 2004. It took them until 2007 model to get an average rating in CR. This was because they were clubbing the old piece of junk 626 reliability data with the 2003+ Mazda6. Read More...
Re: Mazda6 Reliability [aviboy97]
My Mazda is 2004. It took them until 2007 model to get an average rating in CR. I know people with Nissans and Toyotas who have never had a single problem with their cars. I am familiar with the Toyota Camry V6 transmission problems. The car rental company told me the Toyotas for them have been the most reliable. We just need to be aware that Mazda's most important priority ... Read More...
Re: 2007 Mazda 6 [aelsner]
What was the MSRP on 2007? I just bought a 08 Mazda6 VE with a MSRP of $22.1K for $17K before ttl. Just looked on the website of the dealer I bought from and they raised their listed prices by $500. Maybe some Mazda to dealer rebate ended at the end of August. Read More...
Re: Mazda6 [jeffyscott]
Not that there is necessarily a whole lot of difference between "below average" and "average", but CR has Mazda right at average overall. See April 2008 issue, page 17 or April 2007, page 25. I agree, not much difference between first and worst. Vehicle Dependability 2008 I completely disagree with CR's sampling method (they only survey subsribers to CR) and ... Read More...
