Mazda6 Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Base i Auto Pricing

I am thinking of a Mazda6 (2009) in an automatic, but the base version (i), now that I have a four month old with my wife (our first). I have had my RX-8 since it was new in October of 2005 and have had no problems and great dealership service, but it's not practical, even with the quad doors, because it's a manual, and space is tight given everything that I have to pack ... Re: 2009 Mazda 6 i Sport-Wayne Mazda [JGallo377]

from all my research the invoice on the 6i sport is 18729 +670 destination. Don't forget to add the "regional assessment" to that. Edmunds does not track the regional advertising fees because they differ from region to region. The regional assessment is charged to the dealer, and is not built in profit. Edmunds also explains that as well. Now would the S plan price ... Read More...

Edmunds V6 comparo = 6 > Accord > Altima

I've driven all 3 cars and I'd have to agree w/ most of what the Edmunds testers concluded. Edmunds V6 comparison test: Mazda6 vs Accord vs Altima At the time my mom was shopping for a car, the Mazda6 was not out yet so we drove the Accord and Altima (as well as the Sonata and Azera). Of these 4, I liked the Accord the best (though thought the Sonata was the best value). ... Read More...

Re: 2009 Mazda 6i vs. 2009 Nissan Altima 2.5 [aviboy97]

greyghost, where are ya? *Rushes in to sit down* Sorry I'm late! :) Let's see, where to start... The Mazda6 "loose and cheap"? Right... The Mazda6 is THE best handling midsize sedan in this price range, period. I've driven the Accord, Altima, and the Passat, and they don't even come close to what the 1st-gen 6 was capable of. That's why I bought one. Yes, the Fulan ... Read More...

Re: Excessive Break Dust and Engine Rev. [4rman]

What engine/transmission were you test driving? When I drove the I4 atx, I was turning 2,500rpm's at 70mph. About the brake dust, I have a 2005 Mazda6 and have never noticed any excessive brake dust. In fact, with 45,000 on the odo, I have yet to even cut the rotors and have never changed the pads. SUV's, like the Tribute, typically produce more brake dust. Plus, ... Read More...

Re: KBB Rates Malibu as Best in Class [kdshapiro]

The Legacy GT with a mtx is the quickest, and smallest of the bunch. I have spent a lot of time in all Legacy's, since we have a Subaru store in addition to our Mazda store. The atx Legacy GT has an excess of turbo lag that is just too much to over look. The handling of the Legacy GT is also undesirable. It has a very soft suspension, and the steering is not all that great, ... Read More...

Re: Mazda6 [heybroder]

Mazda 4 banger's have been historically great. The 6-speed automatic tranny is built by Aisin, who also builds tranny's for Toyota and has built tranny's for Honda in the past. The 5-speed auto and 6-speed manual are built by Jatco, I think. The one minor weak point I would say is the V6 engine. However, it has had wonderful reviews and has been pretty flawless since ...
