You now have a DEFECTIVE climate control system. What's so "defective" about it? He jiggled a wire and it started working again, end of story, and it had NOTHING to do with your post about your "defective" climate control. And for the record, modern climate control systems work to the SPECIFIC TEMPERATURE that you set it at, then keep it there. That's what it's supposed to do. If the ambient temperature ... Read More
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I know this is an old post, but it just helped me solve my AC problems. I have a 2005 Mazda6, and up till this year the AC has been nice and chilly, just how I like it. Predicting the life of a new car is difficult. IMHO any car should and will last 100K miles. I could even streach this to 150K. This does not mean that repairs above and beyond regular maintenance will not need to be done. This means that a well cared for engine should last that long. The first and most inportant care is engine oil. I check mine every fillup. I change my ... Read More
Thanks! My 2005 Mazda6 i sedan with the 4 spd auto has been very reliable as well. The only problem I had was a driver side window motor that wouldn't roll the windows down and a blown fuse. You said they ruled over Mazda completely when in truth, they didn't. First off, I never said they ruled them completely. A 3 year old Mazda 6 can be had for $11000 without trying(dealer) and $9000 private party if you haggle(some dealers have 45-50K mile examples for $9K even). I checked this right now with Autotrader, so it represents real street prices. All depends on location and supply vs demand. I just sold a 2008 Mazda6 i SV with 31K on it for $11,995. Now that is a good way to answer :) . In my case in 2007, it finally came down to the appearance of the car and price. I was deciding between Fusion, Milan, and Mazda6. from all my research the invoice on the 6i sport is 18729 +670 destination. Don't forget to add the "regional assessment" to that. Edmunds also explains that as well. Now would the S plan price be 2% lower that the invoice price ... Read More

Mazda 4 banger's have been historically great. The 6-speed automatic tranny is built by Aisin, who also builds tranny's for Toyota and has built tranny's for Honda in the past. how do you know the dealership is getting a $1500 rebate from Mazda?
Just drove home my new Mazda6 S Sport Sedan V6 MT w/ Leather, Moonroof and Bose Audio Package. Paid $23,500 OTD (includes $500 college discount and it looks like dealership is getting $1500 rebate from Mazda). I'm pretty happy with the price I paid and this is a FUN car to drive. It's got all the features you can ask for and more in a car of this price.
Based on my experience reading CR over the years, this predicted reliability comes from last spring's survey of subscribers about the Mazda 6 sedan on which the wagon is based. You'll be able to see better what systems or parts of the car subscribers complained about in the end of the year CR 2005 Buyer's Guide which should come next month.
There are no 2005 models listed in inventory yet. Hey Mazda, let's get with the program.
I ordered a Mazda6 wagon on 5/31. It was supposed to be here in 60-85 days. Today is Day #77, and I called the dealer to check on the order status. My salesperson is no longer with the dealer. The salesperson I talked with said they can't find a copy of my order. However, the car will be here in October, he said. (If they don't have a copy of my ... Read More
ramped- Like you, I want SAC/SAB but those are currently hard to find without leather, which I will not buy. This has been made much easier for 2005 with the SAB/SAC being standard on all models and trims except the base 'i' sedan model. ndec- This should be no problem for 2005, but you still gotta find one like that. Like I said before, making SAB/SAC standard on all but the ... Read More
The Mazda6 2.3L 4cyl. is more sophisticated than the Focus's 2.3L. As newcar31 pointed out, the 6 has VVT; I'm pretty sure the Focus lacks that outstanding feature. And the Focus has 145hp, the 6 has 160hp or so. The Focus is clearly not as nice a car as the 6. But maybe if I close my eyes, I won't notice. The trouble with waiting for the 2005 Focus is that ... Well how many Mazda6 owners would trade in a Mazda6 and get something else from Mazda? I know if it were me, I wouldn't be willing to give the company another chance right away after having my almost brand new car rust. That's the difference between you ad me, I guess. Nothing else in my price range matches my list of requirements from a car as well as the Mazda 6. ... Read More
To clear things up... AutoAlliance International is the name of the Mazda/Ford joint-venture manufacturing facility located in Flat Rock, Michigan. It began production in 1987 of the MX-6 and was known as Mazda Motor Manufacturing (USA) Corporation (MMUC). In 1992, amid Mazda's financial turmoil, Ford agreed to purchase half of the plant and it became AutoAlliance International, Inc. It became a union (UAW) plant in 1988. It has produced the 626, ... You could use that same reasoning on someone who wants a moonroof but doesn't want SAB/SAC. What if Mazda offers SAB/SAC as a stand-alone option and required it to get at a moonroof? Mazda obviously through marketing studies has determined SAB/SAC aren't as sexy to buyers as a moonroof. Don't you think there's some people out there not willing to pay the money for SAB/SAC which they don't want just so ... Read More
