Mazda 5 vs Kia Rondo

Are there any vehicles similar to the Mazda5?

The 2009 Mazda5 is similar in size and function to the 2009 Kia Rondo. They also match up in price with Mazda trims ranging from $17,995 to $22,675 and Kia’s from $17,495 to $22,295. Both are small minivan-like vehicles. The Mazda comes standard with room for six while the Rondo has a maximum seating capacity of seven with the optional third row. The third row costs ... Better Mazda Incentives coming in March??

I'm looking seriously at the Mazda5 (at John Kennedy Ford, BMATT). The dealer quoted me $20, 994 for a 2009 Mazda5 GT, which includes $1500 worth of incentives. Does anyone think that Mazda will offer better incentives after the current ones expire at the end of the month?? Read More...

Mazda 5 vs Kia Rondo

Re: NADAguides 2009 award goes to.....Mazda5 and Rondo! [radar1]

While I agree that the Mazda5 & Rondo are good, did you seem some of the other NADA winners...Aveo, Cobalt, HHR, etc...these vehicles have been rated as junk everywhere else. Maybe it's just me, but after glancing through the list it seems like someone at NADA really want to put American vehicles on the list. And some of their category winners are hard to follow...eg, ... Re: A 2009 Rondo Rental [palko]

1) Yes, acceleration was very decent. Again, I didn't like the 4AT upshifting gear to RPM ratio changes, but still, very decent. Now, I really like the 4cyl Mazda MZR engine sound at high RPMs but the KIA one sounded awky. Now, if you don't mind about those things, it was very decent... 2) I only filled-up once. It was around 22MPG. Please note that it was a rental so ... Read More...

A 2009 Rondo Rental

Yeah, I did it. Enough of assumptions, while on business travel I arrived to the rental area and found a Rondo, so here we are: Rented 2009 Rondo LX I4, 5-seater, ~2100mi on the clock Pros Really nice exterior color. It was the Black Cherry I believe. The sunlight effects are great The Kumho tires (16in) are very decent, good grip. The highway drive is very quiet and ... Read More...

Mazda 5 idle shake

Re: New 2009 Mazda5 owner [pdats]

When I first bought mine last year I also noticed this iddle shake. I asked my buddy that works for Mazda as a tech and he told me that it was totally normal operation on these 2.3L Mazda engines because of some sort of intake shutter valve that acts sort of like a choke on the older vehicles. Mine also had a broken right motor mount that was replaced under warranty and ... Read More...

New 2009 Mazda5 owner

Hi I recently purchased a Mazda 5 and am noticing this same problem, When the engine is cold it vibrates periodically (sometimes the vibration feels like a thumping almost) when the car is stopped and idling. I'm curious as to whether this is actually a problem worth taking in to the dealer ? Since there are some veteran Mazda5 owners here, I would appreciate a little ... Read More...

Price Paid for Pearl White Mazda5 GT

My wife and I just bought a 2009 Crystal Pearl White Grand Touring from John Kennedy Mazda in Pottstown, PA this past Saturday. (Very nice and straight forward General Manager) We just lost our Ford X-Plan/S-Plan because Ford dropped the plan for Mazda about 4 weeks ago. So I was disappointed until I walked into the dealer and they said we would get invoice right ... Read More...

Re: Why is everybody paying so much for it? [vg33e power]

Here in Florida, the "Dealer Service Fee" is charged by most dealers on every transaction. It varies from what I have seen between $250 and $895. This is added after you negotiated your "best price" on the car, and if you challenge it, they say that they "have to" add it on, because they do that to all customers. Sometimes they will reduce the "best price" you negotiated ... Read More...
