Hi All, Thanks for all the information in this forum. We finally bought our Mazda5. It is a Strato Blue Sport, with automatic transmission, popular equipment package, cargo net & wheel locks at Mazda of Thousand Oaks, California. The price was $17,265 + TTL. I have been watching the Mazda 5 all year now and am anxiously awaiting the 2007 Mazda5. My wife does not want to trade in her BMW, but with a baby now, times are changing. We live in San Francisco and want a small, efficient, and convenient automobile. My wife and I have a new baby and we rented a Mazda 5 from Hertz for a weekend in Portland, OR. I actually got consistent information from a few relatively reputable sources. The first source was my Mazda sales manager... while he didn't go in depth, he briefly mentioned some of that 2007 information. I have an 07 Mazda5 on order from my local dealer, and going along with rdelaney's response, my dealer's latest update is that it's being built the first week in August and I should expect delivery late August to early September. Hey, hey, hey!!! You are not the only one scratching your head on this one. Yes, the name makes a diffence. You have a Mazda3 with HID, and you want another car for your family with the equal safe driving feature at night on a model that is named more than a 3. That would be a better choice. The Mazda5 has been on sale in Europe for several years, they call it a "Space Wagon". The Kia may be a new model where the Mazda5 is the North American version of an existing vehicle -- with *experience*. I asked the 2 locals dealers today about any changes for the '07MY, and I was told that Mazda is being very tight lipped about the changes, that they usually find out by end of April any changes to the vehicle so they can push the current model year before local public finds out about changes. Mazda will add an additional trim level for 2007...the Mazda5 Grand Touring. It will have all the features found in the touring model plus leather seats, heated seats and HID headlights. Ah, I've just read in Car & Driver that Mazda3 Mazdaspeed (Mazdaspeed3 - who comes up with those designation???) will have limited slip differential from the factory.
