I have contemplated that for at least 5 months of the year maybe and become a snowbird. I attempted to contact my "investigator" at Mazda Canada but he has since moved out of this position, and it appears they closed my file. Hmmm, more Mazda5s sold than in the US actually ;) Given the availability time for the 2008 mazda5 in NA (US and Canada) reality seems that the Mazda5 is not a Mazda business priority (marketing-production-sales) for these 2 markets (i.e. cash cow like the Mazda3) Take a look of the numbers for Mazda in general, a different story. Would you mean the official Mazda USA and Mazda CA sites? According to Kicking Tires, the cars will hit the dealerships Winter 2007 in the US. I'm assuming Canada is very close to that given how they are shipped from Japan. Now, they will be "officially" announced in the Mazda site Mid November (it seems). Not sure if that information is correct as it does not specify AT or MT. If there are improvements on the MZR engine plus the 5AT for 2008, I would expect better numbers. How manufacturers measure stuff is so confusing. I usually focus in more factual down to earth measurements behind the 3rd seat in the Mazda and Rondo is almost non-existent Agree, it is tight when having a full house. Just a recap. I rented a Mazda 5 from Hertz for a few days before deciding on the Rondo. When I turned the Mazda 5 in, it had about 15,000 miles on the odometer and gave me a solid 20 MPG for the time I had it. My 4 cylinder Rondo EX has been returning 16 MPG during the height of the Las Vegas summer. My Rondo now has 825 miles on it. I topped off the tank this AM. It was 87 degrees ... Read More...

From Mazda's media site. I wonder when it'll be out. I'm willing to wait to get some of these features that are not available in the 2007 model, such as the 5 speed auto tranny and improved fuel econ, rear air vents, heated mirrors, alarm, Bluetooth, armrests (hopefully they mean the front passenger armrest), MP3 audio input jack, etc. Quite a number of nice improvements! ...
