Love my Mazda
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Sport 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
Bought used in 07 with 18000 miles and now have 46000. Have driven my Mazda 5 thru 2 nasty winters in Wisconsin and the resulting "ruts" in the road & first yr. worried about how it would handle. Ride is stiff over potholes (some are totally unavoidable) and I was used to a 4 wheel drive SUV. Mazda 5 handled pretty well & it just took a bit of learning about the vehicle. The 6 passenger seating in my "mini" mini van is great and last row easy to access. Definitely would buy this one again & will stay with Mazda's (had a 91 Mazda MPV for 7 yrs. & loved that one too). LOVE DRIVING THIS CAR & I TAKE LOTS OF ROAD TRIPS WITH IT!! Other Mazda 5 owners stop to talk as they love their cars too.
Favorite Features
6 person seating in a totally awesome vehicle size!! Size & depth of glove box. Cooling & heating fast to respond respond comfortably. MAZDA quality throughout!!
Suggested Improvements
Sedan type wheels & tires (mine are the skinny tires whatever they are called). Maybe elasticized door pockets (ones on there are narrow). Keyless entry - I need to be 2 cars away to find my car with the remote (my Nissan worked through parking garage floors to tell me my car is a floor higher).

Impressive....but
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Touring 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
It is a good car but....the interior color and fabric is terrible. Hard to clean up since everything sticks to it. No armrest for the passenger? Visors are tiny. Tires (Toyo)are terrible and don't last. Headlights are bad when going up and down hills. (Need driving lights to correct it.) Brakes are pretty good but had to have rotors turned already and warping again. The tilt column still doesn't help with your knees hitting the bottom of the column. Seats get a little uncomfortable on a trip. Tires that came with it are summer tires so check b4 you purchase if you live in a wintery climate.
Favorite Features
Dash layout is pretty good. I like the radio/cd player. Glovebox is a descent size along with door compartments and center console. Driver components are within easy reach and layed out fairly well. Seats backs that lean back are good.
Suggested Improvements
Headlights, color and type of material for interior, visors that expand, armrest for the passenger, get rid of the silver dash plastic. Better steel for the rotors that won't warp.

Happy for the most part.

Review
Prev. owned large minivan, but after we were looking for compact SUV or 4 door sedan. What sold me on the Mazda 5 was the design. I loved the fact that it's so roomy, has 3rd seat, has storage in the second row seats and it's sporty, not to mention the cargo capacity and the double rear sliding doors are fantastic getting my 2 year old in and out of his carseat. I'm happy with the performance of the vehicle and gas mileage is great, but things that have disappointed me: No Vents in 2nd or 3rd row. Takes a WHILE for the back of the car to cool off/warm up. Way too noisy,Not a quiet ride: Noise is off the chain due to the sport tires I assume. Not happy with that. Overall though, pleased.
Favorite Features
Double rear sliding doors. Storage in both second row seats. Cargo area/ hatch. Lots of head room/spacious but compact at the same time. Gas Mileage
Suggested Improvements
Adding vents in the second or third row to help cool/warm the rear of the vehicle. Somehow improving interior noise. Add armrest to front passenger seat. Change material on dashboard/interior aside from seats. VERY hard to clean. Can only use dustcloth, not liquid of any sort.

Pricy to maintain
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Touring 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
This car is one of the poorest performing car for durability I have ever owned. 36K warped rotors so new brakes also. Tires 40k ($7-900). Struts and shocks are now wore out started at 43K miles ($1000). Intermittent engine shutter and transmission shutter no rhyme or reason. Can't be fixed.
Favorite Features
Sliding side doors
Suggested Improvements
Choose a more practical tire. Clean up the ugly radio area. Inprove the quality of the parts.

Excellent Vehicle! A Must Buy!
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Sport 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I am in sales and drive about 35K/year,so I can quickly know if a vehicle is going to last and this has been the BEST VEHICLE I have ever owned. After 76K miles this car has been extremely reliable with no repairs other than scheduled maintenance. Also no rattles or odd noises, its a very well built solid car. The domestic car companies should take note! I'm averaging about 29-30 MPG mixed driving using a K&N airfilter and synthetic oil (Amsoil). Even though it doesn't have all the bells and whistles and the interior is rather spartan/cheap feeling, it is very functional. I am very confident that I will see 150K ++ from this vehicle.
Favorite Features
Fun to drive! Very comfortable. Versatile. Easy to maintain, well built and extremely reliable.
Suggested Improvements
Bring the diesel here! I have a 2007 and it looks as Mazda took care of the improvements I noted.

low profile tires
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Grand Touring 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I found that the Mazda 5 has it's advantages as well as disadvantages. The interior and seats are very comfortable. We went from a mini van and I do miss the leg room on the drives side that the mazda 5 lacks. My husband finds the gas peddle small and close to the brake.
Favorite Features
My favorite feature is the heated leather seats for the price. The gas milage is great. The side air bags are an important safety feature.
Suggested Improvements
I signed off on low profile tires not realizing that if you live in an area that has pot holes (who doesn't) then you are going to have trouble with bent rims. I was very disappointed that they were bent and are likely to encounter that again. $1200 dollars to fix it. Beware-low profile tires

Terrible Road noise
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Touring 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
Even though the handling is very good and fun to drive, the road noise is so bad you can hardly talk to other passengers. You cannot talk to people in the rear of the car without screaming. The radio is the worst sounding on any car I've ever owned. If Zoom Zoom is the only thing you care about this is a good pick for this segment, but if creature comforts and having conversation with someone else is of value, look for a different vehicle.
Favorite Features
Crisp, agile handling is great
Suggested Improvements
Improved audio speakers and sound system. Decrease the road noise!

As cool as a minivan can be
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Sport 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
I like small cars but need space to carry furniture. This mini minivan is the perfect solution! It drives like a car, with no swaying around corners like the Odyssey or Sienna. Super maneuverability; the turning radius is surprisingly tiny. The cool exterior styling means I don't feel like a soccer mom. Very comfortable interior and handy controls on the steering wheel. Manual shift option is great for driving in the mountains. I'm surprised at mileage complaints. I have carefully recorded my mileage the entire 10 months I've had the car and I average 27 mpg mixed use. Driving style matters, though; I drive no more than 5-8 mph over the speed limit and I don't speed away from stoplights.
Favorite Features
Super handling with small turning radius. Fun to drive! Comfortable on long drives. Cool exterior styling. Easy loading with side sliding doors and wide rear hatch.
Suggested Improvements
More powerful engine. Five-speed auto transmission. A bit more space between the brake and gas pedals, and a driver's seat that goes back about one more inch (I'm 5'11", long legs and size 10 feet).

2007 Mazda5
Vehicle
2007 Mazda MAZDA5 Sport 4dr Minivan (2.3L 4cyl 4A)
Review
We traded in a ford truck who was consuming 16 to the gallon with lesser hp and to cylinders more.Of course no comparison driving this minivan, drives like a mazda3 and the space of a truck! We did a trip around the US so drove 10,000 miles and the only problem occurred was the AC was striking for 30 min. Good we were in Montana and not already in Vegas. Out of the blue it worked again and this was the only problem so far. In the mountains would be nice to have more power, maybe not long Mazda get the new 2.5 fourstroke from ford, better on the mile and with the 5 shift trannie who you can lock more fun and lower RPM at 70 mph. Now 3200rpm still ok but with the new automatic will be better.
Favorite Features
The captain chairs in the back who can fold down very easy and the slide doors opening easy in small parking spots, low maintenance cost. And good brakes (nice in the mountains without fading). 4 disks instead of drums in the back. Good space around you.
Suggested Improvements
More power and better gas mileage, other brand tires or more noise reducing insulation.
