Hello, just wanted to annouce that after 2-years of being gone from the Mazda5 board I am back. For those that don't remember or do...I used to own a 2006 Strato Blue Mazda5 Touring Auto which I traded for a 2007 Galaxy Gray Mazda CX-9 Touring. Well....I still have my, or should I say our CX-9 which we only use occasionally for those long family trips full of luggage. However, I ... Read More
Your steering problems sounds like it might have been related to the massive recall of Mazda5s due to power steering failure, but I think they only recalled 2007 to 2009 models. See the following article: http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/19/mazda-expands-recall-for-power-steeri- ng-problem-to-500000-cars/ However, I had suspension issues with my 2007 that were resolved with a Technical Service Bulletin that my dealership claimed did not apply to my model. Bulls**t. I complained to Mazda corporate, and they ... Read More
So I took the plunge and trade it in my little Mazda5 for a 2007 Mazda CX-9...WOW!! what a difference. We needed more room and more cargo capacity and this thing is nicely loaded with leather, bluetooth, tri-climate control, etc... Thank you for all your suggestions and information you can find me at the CX-9 forum.
I just replaced my 2007 Mazda5 Sport with a 2010 Mazda5 Sport. On my 2007, and on all cars I have ever driven, the instrument panel only lights up when the headlights are turned on. If you forget to turn on the headlights, you figure it out very quickly because the instrument panel is dark. On my 2010 Mazda5, the instrument panel lights up automatically when it is dark or even ... Read More

The recall (4306k) is for certain 2006 models only, not the 2007 ("Mazda Motor Corporation has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety, exists in certain 2006 Mazda5 vehicles produced from April 12, 2005 through February 1, 2006") Regardless, if they are really having similar issues, the parts are C2Y5-73-300B, and they can be replaced under warranty (if you still have one). If it is 2007 Mazda5, the VIN can be checked against a Technical Service Bulletin for defective rear and (or) front bushings on the stabilizer bar as the rear might give the impression it is behind the passenger door on the left or right side. Thanks - I just went outside to my car to have a look. There is no SRS logo in the headliner, or in the plastic upright immediately beside the bottom of the 2nd row seats. Its very strange. Hi - I have a question - and one that has been bothering me for a while. Thanks for the feed back whobodym. I think I may have misunderstood the salesperson on the phone. At first he asked me about whether I had automatic climate control. Also it looks like Mazada/Rondo does not have really good MPG - but I think they can improve it. My 2008 Mazda 5 gets 29-31 MPG in mixed city/suburban driving on every tank. I purchased a Phantom Blue Mazda5 Sport 5-Speed for $18,088 from Brown's Mazda in Fairfax, VA on 10 June 2007. This was the final, "out-the-door" price, which is pretty good considering the DC-MD-NoVA market. The process was quick and relatively smooth.
