Hello mb116. Mazda isn't providing lease support on leftover 2012 Mazda3 Sedan models any longer. This is pretty typical this late in the model year. If you really want this car, you will have to either pay cash for it, taking advantage of the $2,250 cash incentive or finance it using the special financing program at 0% for 5 years / 1.9% for 6 years plus a $1,000 cash incentive. Excellent deal. Actually I found that internet prices were pretty good. Just bought at 2013(built in January) Mazda 3 Sedan Touring Automatic for 16.3k(18k out the door with high CA taxes), including $500 discount plus $500 loyalty. No extra fees.
I know the internet prices are often b.s. and I ran into a lot of that when we bought our 2012 CX-9 a few months ago. They were showing prices with the $500 Owner Loyalty and $500 Military rebates applied. I qualified for the Loyalty since I have a 2006 Mazda3, but not the Military. If it makes you feel any better, the "internet price" doesn't mean jack. They've probably applied every rebate they can think of even if most buyers don't qualify (current mazda owner + veteran = $1000) and then you can guarantee there's another $800-$1000 in "fees" that aren't included in this price. Having said that, the 2012 Mazda3 is, I think, the best deal on the market right now. Of course, i'm ... Read More

The Reason I think the Cruze is a better car than the 3 is because it actually has a usable and decent interior. It certainly drives better thanks to the weight and wheelbase. Almost all of the magazines seem to be calling neck and neck between the two. Remember, that this car is a re-badged version of GM's best selling small car in Europe and is made by Opel. So it ... Backy- Thanks for your thoughts on the Mazda3 SKYACTIV 6-speed mtx. We have sold out of our 6-speeds and don't have any more for quite sometime. I have a subaru dealer in our dealer group and I have had some seat time in the 2012 Impreza and I came away both impressed and disappointed. Lemme explain... I think the car looks much, much better in person than in print. The interior ... Read More
Hi damien7. ALG is relatively expensive to purchase access to, plus it wouldn't necessarily be accurate for this car's lease program either. Chase publishes the lease program for Mazda vehicles and it is not required to use ALG's residual values, not to mention the fact that ALG would not be able to tell you what Mazda's money factors are like. Chase's December buy rate lease money factor and residual value for ... Read More
you sure about that rear legroom? I test drove the 2012 Impreza Sport Limited recently and the back seat is limo-sized compared to the Focus and Mazda3. Of course I'm a 6 footer and have to move the seat pretty far back. But I had to move it to the end of its travel in the Ford and Mazda, but there was still room to go back in the Subie, plus ... "As far as the marketing decisions of Mazda goes, there are plenty of manufacturers that only have manual trannies in the base or entry type models. Mazda is certainly not alone in this and this trend did not happen overnight." Agreed, but if Mazda wants to become another Toyonda, then my current Mazda3 will be my last Mazda. The thing is, it is Mazda which went out of its way to ... Read More
The first comment was directed specifically toward the person I was responding to. As for bad mouthing automatic transmissions in general, it's true I hate driving cars so equipped, but as a general rule I don't bad mouth them until someone says something like "if you try it you'll like it". Sorry, I won't, I've driven cars with the best automatics the industry has to offer and don't like them. The ... Read More
We recently purchased a 2012 i Touring w/SkyActiv engine and auto tranny in Sky Blue Mica and could not be happier. Most of the miles have been in-town and we are getting north of 32 mpg. The only option I would like to have gotten would have been an automatic climate control but it was not available. For those of you carping about the availability of manual trannys and numerous options, ... Read More
I'd be happy to help you out, dpodola. Mazda's November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Mazda3 5-Door i Touring with 12,000 miles per year are .00173 and 61%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier. The residual value for a lease with only 10,000 miles per year would be 1% higher. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing ... Read More
I read recently about Mazda's future product plans. Don't remember where and so I don't have a link to post, but this is what it said, fall of 2011, updated 2012 Mazda3 with Skyactiv spring of 2012, all new 2013 CX-5 fall of 2012, all new 2013 Mazda6 with Shinari styling and full Skyactiv c. summer to fall of 2013, all new 2014 Mazda3 with complete Skyactiv and the new styling... ... hardly just members of the press. Thousands of comments on forums said the same thing. Agreed! Personally, I find the Kodo theme used on the fascia of Mazda's Shinari concept car spectacular. Here's hoping we see it in the major refresh of the 2013 Mazda3.
Members of the press have beaten up Mazda on the "psychotic" grin of the Mazda3 It was hardly just members of the press. Thousands of comments on forums said the same thing. I never thought "the grin" was THAT bad but always thought they could have done a lot better the front end styling.
Members of the press have beaten up Mazda on the "psychotic" grin of the Mazda3. Now that the fascia has been redesigned, the initial commentary seems approving. When I recently saw the new Mazda3 and its "evolutionary" (i.e. small) change, my overall impression was that the front looked tamed and not as dramatic as the previous model. This is a bit of a surprise to me, as I was not a ... Read More
Hi jodony1. Mazda's November buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36-month lease of a 2012 Mazda3 S Grand Touring with 12,000 miles per year are .00173 and 59%, respectively for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier. The numbers for an otherwise identical 24-month lease are .00236 and 67%. If you were to lease with only 10,000 miles per year, this car's residual values would be ... Read More
2012 Mazda Mazda3 Skyactiv: Driving Impressions For all of the talk about the 2012 Mazda Mazda3 and the added efficiencies of the Skyactiv technologies, this car is still a blast to drive. Along some enjoyable roads just outside of L.A., we had the chance to check out both of the Skyactiv's new transmissions. First up, we grabbed some seat time in the Skyactiv-Drive automatic which delivered quick shifts in regular mode ... Read More
2012 Mazda3 S Grand Touring Sedan The Mazda 3's new-for-2012 fascia is a welcome improvement. The 3 looks sharper and more mature now that the smiley-face designs are gone. On our tester, the gloss-black grille inserts contrast nicely with the bright-white paint. The most remarkable thing about Mazda vehicles is that they all truly embody the famous "Zoom-Zoom" advertising tagline. The stubby, direct shifter in this Mazda 3 feels like it ... Read More
It's a Complete Package Although the drivetrains are the main story on the 2012 Mazda 3, driving this car on back roads reminds us why it remains a favorite of ours in the compact car class. Even the i Touring trim, with workaday P205/55R16 Bridgestone Turanza EL400 tires, has exceptional grip and balance through corners. Power steering assist remains hydraulic (albeit with an electric motor driving the pump) and the steering ... Read More
