  • 2010 Clutch issues real?

Written by: endershadow on Jan 13, 2013 9:12:15 PM

I saw on the link below that the 2010 Mazda3 is having more early clutch failures than other years. Should I be looking at 2011's instead? Or is this just a few bad cars in the bunch? http://www.carcomplaints.com/Mazda/MAZDA3/ Thanks!

You didn't provide enough information to narrow this down much. You have a wide range of vehicles on your list--from tiny subcompacts (Mazda2) to mid-sized cars with large-car interiors (Sonata and Optima). Think about what's most important to you: fun to drive? ride comfort? lots of passenger room? lots of cargo room? fuel economy? etc. The Fit Sport is a good around-town car if you want something small, fun to drive, ... You can see the invoice right here on Edmunds. But, please do not say "FU" to the dealer/salesperson. I also advise against stating "$2k below your invoice," because dealers have been known to produce inaccurate invoices. You need to know your number ahead of time and offer that dollar amount exactly.

Listen to me very carefully. You need to take the 1250 and 500 off the dealer's invoice (cost) and not their inflated MSRP. You are getting ripped off!!! In my area the invoice is $19,187 so the math is $19.187 - $2,000 = $17.187. Then add their dest fee of + or - $750........
