My transmission and alternator went out at 31,000 miles on my 04 Mazda 3. I agree with your comments about the tires, one set needed replacement at 12,000. I will not buy Mazda again. The dealer would not do anything about my transmission, said to buy a new car from them! Read More...

If it makes you feel better, I'm having clutch problems at 18k miles I'm the original owner and have been driving manuals for 20 years. I'm fighting with the dealer to fix it now. Never mind the fact that I just replaced the tires...the stock tires on this car last less than 1/2 what they have on other new cars, and I actually drive less aggressive than years ago. I think ... My Mazda 3 has become a tire eater!!

Hi! Is there a problem with the Mazda3 being hard on tires. I have had two sets of Michelin tires (Harmony & Energy) become scalloped and very noisy. We were able to reduce the noise considerably on the present set (Energy) by putting a front tire on the back but I don't think the problem is solved. My other car (Toyota Camry 2007) has the same tires and they ride noiselessly. ... Read More...

I'm looking for a used Mazda3 Sport with under 35k miles. I'm very near Wayne Mazda in northern NJ. They have a ton of used 2006-2008 models that would work for me. mkelly 7, Have you found a solution to these problems? I drive a 2007 mazda3 sport GT and have experienced almost the same sequence of events. I first noticed that my radio would reset by itself. In avi's defense, I work a Mazda/VW Dealer in St. Peters, MO. The 2010 MZ3 and the 2009 Rabbit are in two very different leagues, and it can only be experienced by driving them both back to back.
