Re: Traded in my Jetta for the 3 [texasnightowl]

Rather than relying on anecdotal information...FWIW, Edmunds shows very little difference in estimated repair and maintenance costs for a Jetta vs. a Mazda3. Based on 5 years and 75,000 miles the total for the Jetta is $3154 for maintenance and $930 for repairs, total for the Mazda3 is $3261 for maintenance and $812 for repairs. So the total repair and maintenance ... Read More...

Mazda 3 Transmission Problems

Re: Madza 3 Transmission [autonomous]

Must have been different in Canada. I found a reference to the 4 year for 2005: http://www.automotive.com/2005/12/mazda/mazda3/warranty/index.html Read More...

Mazda3 vs Honda Civic

Re: Love my 3.. [dc_driver]

I really went back and forth between the 3 and the Civic back in July 2006 and ended up buying the Mazda 3. I thought it handled better and I preferred the styling and interior to the Civic. I was not a fan of the Civic dash, and roofline and the Mazda dealer was willing to deal and the Honda dealers were not (but they did on an Odyssey minivan I bought that same year). I went ... Mazda 3 Transmission Problems

Re: 2005 mazda 3 [jonathan7787]

Assuming that you have a manual transmission... Yes, 3,500 RPMs does sound a bit high. As a point of reference, my 2009 Mazda3 i 5-Speed (manual) turns about 3,050 RPMs at 112 KPH. Best regards, Shipo Read More...

Like you I have just under 61k miles on my '05 Mazda 3i (4-door 2.0L engine w/5-speed manual). Average mpg w/my 3i to date is 38.6 mpg based on all fill-ups since new. All of my car's results are posted at www.brianbauer.org. Look for 2005 Mazda3, 2.0L manual transmission. My car's results are the ones listed for Chesterfield, VA. Before choosing to purchase my ... 2005 Mazda3 (automatic) with Transmission Issues

I bought a Mazda3 in May 2005. The car is great and had no issues until March 2008. When I was driving in automatic one day, the car would tend to shift from 4th to 3th gear automatically with the AT and engine light come on. Once this happen it is locked into 3rd gear until you come to a complete stop. Once I am at a complete stop it will return to lst gear and the AT light turns ... Read More...

Re: 2010 Mazda 3 GT [aviboy97]

if VW brings the new Rabbit to our side of the pond come September, I have no reason to believe that VW will discount those either. This makes even a little savings on a 2010 Mazda3 seem that much larger. I don't think it will take long for discounts to appear on the new Rabbit or the Madzda3. My wife wanted the new Jetta in 2005. We ordered one within a month or so of launch, ... Read More...

Mazda3 2.3 vs. '07 VW Rabbit

Re: Euro cars [autonomous]

"Speaking of European, the British weekly, Autocar, rates (using 5 stars) the Ford Focus superior to the Mazda3 and Volvo S40. - Focus hatch: 4.5 stars, "UK's favorite car returns bigger and better than ever" - Volvo S40: 3 stars, "strangely less than the sum of its parts" - Mazda3 hatch: 3 stars, "a good car, but not quite what it should have been" Moral of the story: ... Mazda3 Canada

Re: Mazda3 owners with corrosion issues, join us here!

I've already contacted the APA and their Montreal office sent my "dossier" (including pictures) to Mazda Canada. We'll see where that goes. Oh, and I did not have to join the APA to get their help. I think you need a membership to benefit from their pricing information. As for a class action suit, the list I'm compiling may end up being instrumental in that pursuit. ... Read More...

Mazda3 Maintenance & Repair

Mazda3 Long term performance

I have a 2005 mazda3 S with 54K on it and i have had ONLY ONE small problem... The engine mount went bad at 45K. Anything review you read on Mazda3 is always positive... I have NEVER read a bad one. This car is rock solid, in my opinion. Unless you're some young punk beating on it, then maybe you'll have issues. This Mazda board is getting old, just a bunch of cry babies ... Read More...
