Purchased the car for business trips. Has averaged between 32 - 35 MPG on highway, has plenty of power and has proved to be very comfortable on long trips. Stereo (6-CD changer) is awesome, still getting used to the atomic cockroach exterior styling.

Mazda3... My New Car !

I recently bought myself a new car and chose the Mazda3 as for under $20,000 you get a vehicle comparably priced to one around $30,000. It has all the bells and whistles, but is lacking in torque. Yes this car accelerates, but it doesn't grab you an make you fell like it is accelerating. But the bonus is excellent gas mileage!

The Mazda 3

The Mazda3, with its sleek exterior design, and its luxurious interior design make this car worth buying. The exterior design is both fun and mature, appealing to young and mature adults. Handling busy New York City traffic, with the automobile's abrupt stops, and their many attempts to cut in front, is so much less stressful with a Mazda 3. The car becomes an extension of your arms and legs. The anti-lock brake system has helped me avoid many accidents because of its amazing ability to stop you right on time. The acceleration and easy steering work together to help maneuver your car in and out of thick traffic. You will never be late for work again. It has helped me in and out of NYC!

The car is fun to drive. I love the headlights. I have the navigation and I love that too! Comes in very handy. I do a lot of freeway driving and this Mazda does more than keep its end of the bargain as being a great commuter vehicle!

I test drove several vehicles in this segment and none had the feel of the Mazda3. It genuinely feels like a far more expensive car. It is a real treat to drive and own. I highly recommend this car.

Being an exclusive Mazda driver for the past 15 years, I have driven Proteges, 626's and Tributes. This model by far has the most bang for the buck. Luxurious interior, adequate power, 17 " WHEELS, sleek refined body, wide Euro footprin - this car is a charmer. If you compare the BMW 1 series in styling and body characteristics you will see many similarities. An awesome car for the money!

Looked at all autos in this category, none compared to quality, workmanship and price. You will not be disappointed with this car. Crash tested at the top. Stop looking and buy.Highest horsepower but thought mileage would be better.

A Fun Value

After 11 months and 14,500 miles, I'm still extremely happy with this car. I have an automatic, with ABS, and sunroof. It's fun to drive and surprisingly comfortable, even on long highway trips. Mazda's done a great job in developing a car that is both fun and practical. That's not to say it's a perfect car as it does have some minor problems - but for the money, it's very difficult to beat. The dealer experience was also much better than expected. Complaints are relatively few: gauges tend to wash out in bright sunlight, the tires are great in normal driving but not very good in the snow, and the textured interior material, while it looks great, scuffs easily.

good car with irritating problem

The car is overall well made, except for the "Check Engine" light that came on at 87 miles (and has been coming on every couple of miles or so). The dealer can give me no real explanation. it is a huge hassle to have to go to the dealer for them to "fix" the problem (which they probably just disconnect the battery for a minute or so). Otherwise, a great car.
