mazda cx7 ac problems
I have a Mazda CX-7 2007 with 46,000 miles. After my ac went out, making loud noises and smoking, I went online and read all the problem everyone is having. I was about to explode when I finished. I went to my local Mazda dealership the next day, armed with all the printouts of complaints and darred them to not fix it at Mazda's costs. They were very nice and said they ... Read More...

2007 Cx7 Chain Slap Noise ?
So just returned from Mazda dealer my complaint was the engine sounds like a diesel ticking noise , At first they said it sounded normal then another tech came over and stated that it sounds like a chain slap noise ,After they removed the manifold they determined that the engine had jumped time and that the timing chain needed to be replaced requesting for me to provide ... Re: Mazda Buyers Beware [interested_72]
Hi Interested_72. It just dawned on me that it sounds like your car has a known problem that is addressed in the Mazda TSB 01-002/08. Noisy VVT Actuator Read this description and TSB below. The problem is just noise, not a bad engine (most likely). If this Mazda service dept refuses to review all TSBs, then take it to another Mazda dealer. MULTI-MODEL - VARIABLE ... Read More...
Re: Easy A/C cooling FIX. [wwest]
Call MAZDA customer service in IRVINE,CA and explain the situation, they know they have higher than acceptable failure rates with the 2007 CX7 AC system, as mysteriously the system was redesigned the following year. Tell them you expect them to take care of it and that you are aware of the issues with the CX7 AC system. And FYI 1200.00 for the parts only is ridiculous ... Read More...
Re: Mazda CX-7 2010 Model [Chuckles37]
I own a CX-7 GT AWD, trust me when I tell you, go for the turbo. The car is fun to drive, I cannot imagine why you dont want the turbo version. I have 30K, bought it in Dec 2007 as a 08 model, I can tell you I drive from NYC to Florida and it is pure joy when I push my car to over 85MPH in the highway. My wife has a CRV and yes it is a reliable car with all the basic you need but the engine ... Read More...
AC problems
I have been driving a 2007 for two years now, I have always loved the car up until now. At 37,500 miles (yes, 1500 miles after the warranty ran out), my AC compressor locked up. The air started blowing warm then started seeing smoke from under the hood. I took my car to a mechanic who quoted me $2000.00 to fix it, but suggested I take it back to my dealership because any ... Re: Have the AirCon issues been sorted now? [zoomzoom77]
The AC compressor on my 2007 Maxzda CX7 has fried twice, once at 30k miles and again at 60k miles. The trend is obvious. I have sent my info to the nhtsa investigation board. I would gladly participate in any kind of customer group challenging Mazda to address my financial implications of this defective system. Read More...
Re: Have the AirCon issues been sorted now? [zoomzoom77]
I bought my 2007 Mazda CX7 in November of 2006. I did not use the A/C until summer of 2007 then again summer of 2008. My mileage is approx 44,000. I live in a rural area so I have long distance driving to go anywhere. This being my 3rd summer of A/C I was totally dumbfounded when the air started blowing warm in May 2009. Reading these posts I see I am not alone. I am ready to ... Read More...
C-7 Clanging Noise and black smoke out exhaust when accelerating
Re: Fix for the CX7 Clanging Noise in Engine with the Black smoke out the back [slw5]
Hey slw5, Good to see you are still around. I am the other owner you were referring to. It seems this issue only affects the 2007 model year using California's lower 91 octane fuel. The service bulletin has the dealer replace the Variable Valve Timing actuator and install a new ECU form a 2008 model. In 2008 Mazda changed the ECU to enable the engine to use lower octane ... Mazda CX-7 v Toyota RAV4 v Honda CR-V
Re: Toyota Rav4 V6, Mazda CX-7, Honda CR-V comparison [dmele426]
I have a CRV EX-L 2007 too. A Very, very good car for it's intended purpose - a CUV with AWD. My wife loves it. We're in the same gneral area that you are - Westchester Co, NY. I definetely agree with you, It's a "chick" car, even Honda's literature will tell you that. It was designed specifically for women with young children - easy access, a "cute" look to it, etc. I too ... Read More...
