Saw the CX-7 yesterday -- underwhelmed
The local dealer has a white CX-7 GT in stock and white is not its best color. It really kills the styling, the fender humps are totally lost. It would be easy for this CX-7 to go unnoticed in traffic. With the almost white leather trim it's a washout visually. What added to the shock of the white was the extra cost for the paint -- $200. Walking around it I hoped the taillamps ... Read More...
Re: Regular gas in CX-7 [aviboy97]
Basically, premium fuel is a cleaner burning fuel. Engines with high performance, like turbo's, require the higher octane because of the lower amount of carbon build up. The engine will not perform well if you use regular. There is the potential to reduce engine life, for the engine will not be running how it was designed to run. Thanks for the feedback. I am not ... New Cars Times Online April 30, 2006 Mazda CX-7 By Andrew Frankel of The Sunday Times Fills a niche you hadn't noticed Gangs in America are as old as the coming of the European settlers. You will remember Butch and Sundances Hole in the Wall Gang; Chicago had Capone, New York the (fictional) Sharks and Jets. But here in Washington DC I have just come face to face with ... Re: New Reviews Today Road & Track, Motor Trend [zoom49]
Slightly faster acceleration from a stop is a not very useful performance feature (both are very adequate for merging from a stop) - nobody cares, its irresponsible to do on public roads and a half decent sports cars can smoke SUVs, end of story. Handling and braking are real world performance features that you can practically use in day to day driving. The CX7 ... Read More...
Re: Tough choice... [audia8q]
audi is correct, Mazda will be reducing their warranty to be similar to their competitors for the 2007 model year. The CX-7 will be the first to have the 3/36 and 5/60 warranty. Read More...
Re: Tough choice... [ctx]
Another point is the CX-7 has a 4 yr/48K warranty.. the Murano has 3 yr/36K. For 2007 Mazda is changing their warranty to be similar to their competators. 3/36 bumper to bumper and 5/60K on powertrain. Roadsides assist stays. Read More...
Re: Relative pricing [cowbell]
I will throw the 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander into the equation. Have a look at the new style, pricing very similar to Mazda with the exemption that it has 10 year warranty for the the powertrain and 5 years in all the rest. A beauty to be discovered. I know, some people say that Mitsubishi is having financial problems...well so does GM, Nissan. (Mitsubishi is one of ... Read More...
RIP Mazda Tribute (possibly)
Mazda officially announced yesterday that there will not be a 2007 Tribute. I guess Mazda really wants to concentrate more on their own vehicle, CX-7, rather then the Ford clone. However, there is still a chance the Tribute will stay alive. There is talk about releasing a completely redesigned 2008 Tribute sometime in early 2007. Read More...
Re: Thankyou very much dodgeman07..... [bpraxis]
Second year is always a good idea. Here's a little trick I try to force myself to do -- look at LAST year's and other recent introductions, read the hype and get excited about THEM. Then they are in their second year or later, reliability has improved and prices are down. It's HARD to do though! SO, by that strategy I should be getting excited about a Honda Odyssey, ... Re: Ill Stick with the Tribute [hcor]
Where can I find information on CX-9 and when is it due out? It's really tough to find accurate information on the CX-9 right now. All that is really known is that it will be replacing the MPV in 2007 as a 2008 model. The prototype vehicle has yet to be shown at any event yet. It's a possibility it may be shown at the NY auto show in the spring, as was the MX-Crossport concept ... Read More...
