Excellent Mid Size Crossover
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
Gas mileage is about 17. Although I would like it to be better, can't find another veh w/same features that can beat it. Safety features awesome and major reason I purchased this veh. AWD & braking abilities prevented an accident when I was cut off by large semi in a downpour! Great value of features for price. My 3 kids 14, 11, 9 all very comfortable in it and I can put all their sports gear in the back. Nav system is awesome with big screen. Love music system but wish I had gotten Sirius too. Love my car!
Favorite Features
1. Safety - AWD, braking, stability control, airbags. 2. Handling & driving experience, manual/auto shift
Suggested Improvements
2nd row air vents, regular gas, MPG and miles till empty indicator. Override autodim on instruments & nav when using headlights in daytime, daytime running lights.
Having fun with my CX-7

Review
After almost a year with this SUV, I've been very pleased. No major problems only a few recalls and TSB's to improve drivability. I love the unique styling through out. Maybe gets mistaken for a Lexus RX. Gas mileage is not great, I average around 19 in town and 22 on the road cruising around 75 mph. The interior styling is good but the need to improve the cheap looking plastics.
Favorite Features
Bose audio , CD/MP3, nav. stereo set-up. Overall good performance and very responsive on acceleration with a firm ride and handling for vehicle this size. Good rear fold down storage if needed.
Suggested Improvements
An audio imput jack and softer seats. A 300 hp. turbo 6 option instead of the 4- cyl. More optional goodies to the GT version like power passenger seats, dual climate zone controls, more exterior chrome accents and 20" chrome wheels. Allow passenger programming to the nav system while moving.

Hate this Car
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
Bought this car in 8/07. Hated it since the 2nd week of ownership! (I traded it last month.) This car is over-priced, cheap looking, hard to see out of, poor gas mileage, premium gas. I bit the bullet, worked out a good trade and kissed it good-bye! Never been so glad to get rid of a car!
Favorite Features
Liked the look of the car when we bought it, that quickly went away!
Suggested Improvements
Better gas mileage (drop the turbo--put a V6 in it or something, improve the visibility when driving, add more gadgets or something to make up for the price that you pay--you can definitely get a more valuable car for that price. Depreciation of these cars is ridiculous.

I Love It!!
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
This really is an awesome car! I test drove almost all other SUVs on market like it, and the CX-7 was my favorite. So MPG isn't great, but for the SUVs on the market today, I am not surprised. The Mazda CX-7 is fun to drive and the performance is great. I sold my old Lexus GS-300 (I'll admit it was the first model made back in the 90s) and bought this car, and I am not disappointed in the performance or the handling. The AWD is a must for snow conditions and traction control is a nice feature. Had to get 3 recalls done, but I got a letter in the mail telling me I needed to, and they were paid for. Never had a problem with reliability. Great car!
Favorite Features
Bose sound system, leather seats, comfort, sunroof, how the back seats fold down (can fold them down from the tailgate or by the seat). Huge center console (can fit a laptop). Steering wheel controls are great, shifting system in nice. Its a sporty, elegant and sexy car!
Suggested Improvements
Ability to have the Bose sound system and the nav system would have been nice. The exterior could be made out of something more durable, especially the front bumper and grill. Less plastic on inside. Better MPG, not premium gas requirement. Automatic seat controls for front passenger. Seat memory.

My favorite little SUV
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
I test drove many automatic cars and SUVs (including the Nissan Murano) with V6 engines and so far the CX7 had the best acceleration (like a car with a manual stick shift). The exterior looks great very similar to the Lexus. This car works well for a family of three, or four at the most due to the limited cargo space when traveling. I had a couple of flat tires but could have been bad luck also. Otherwise runs smoothly with no serious problems. Great buy for this price except for gas mileage!
Favorite Features
Modern look (lots of compliments), wide tires, great acceleration, interior cargo cover (extra), nice interior design, comfort, smooth drive, option to lower right part of the back seat even with baby car seat inside the middle.
Suggested Improvements
More visibility in each front sides of the windshield. More cargo space. Hook or hoop device to tie trunk door down when not able to close trunk. Air condition outlet to back of the car. GPS. The need of Premium gas.
Love it, but it has issues

Well, after 16,000 miles I just got my car back from a few days in the shop. It had to have 3 recalls done on it (which I never got anything about recalls), and had to have the actuator replaced. It made this awful noise when you started the car after it had been sitting for a while. The look of the car is great! I love how it drives, but HATE the gas mileage especially only using premium gas!! We have not had issues with it at all till now, so overall for me it is a good car. I do dislike that the only cupholders in the back seat are in the fold down armrest in the middle, so if you have 3 people back there, there are no cupholders.
Favorite Features
Turbo, sleek design, controls on steering wheel, very comfortable.
Suggested Improvements
Add cupholders in the back other than the fold down armrest. Use a more durable material for the grille instead of flimsy plastic. Better gas mileage!!

Never again

2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
I love the looks of the CX7, but that's about it. I get about 12 mpg in town and 16 on the highway. I have complained about this, and they told me when I hit 10k I would get better mpg then they told me after 12k now it's after 15k. It takes premium fuel which adds up fast! It has a very rough ride, does not have comfortable seats for long ride, does not handle that well in snow, mine is AWD, and I have a problem with the doors locking and unlocking by themselves and the horn randomly honking. I have a lot of surface rust already, even though I wash it regularly. This has been one of those live and learn experiences.
Favorite Features
The heated seats, the looks of the vehicle, the Bose stereo system.
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage.

Great CUV
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
As lots of others here, I drove lots of other CUVs. I traded in my Audi A4 Quattro. I was very worried about losing performance and handling of the A4, but with the CX it's all here! It still blows me away when I hit it off the line. It's so fast for this size of vehicle. The gas does suffer while doing quick starts, but to me it's worth the performance! The other CUVs in its class were boring and felt numb. This is a CUV for people who love to drive!
Favorite Features
Handling, turbo, AWD, adjustable HIDs, looks, trans, blue interior light.
Suggested Improvements
MPG, memory seats, paddle shifters, side blinkers, glove box and visor light.

Purchased Damaged Car
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
Numerous problems with car: air cond out first month. New head had to be ordered to replace cracked one that was on engine at time of manufacture due to "casting flaw" as attested to by Mazda technicians. Local dealer bent over backwards to try and make it right. We eventually went to Mazda USA and asked for our money back based on fact that car was damaged at time of manufacture. They refused, saying they had repaired car. Now a window won't work. This has been a nightmare and we are very unhappy, wondering what will happen next. Will have to take a loss and trade for another brand soon.
Favorite Features
Styling: car looks good and is fun to drive when it works.
Suggested Improvements
Better quality control at factory.

Would not buy again
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
Replaced the turbo after 16,000 miles & brake rotors cut down at 17,000. All covered under warranty but still shouldn't happen. Gas mileage is TERRIBLE. As long as the turbo doesn't kick in (which w/the 4 cyl. it always does) I'm getting 12.5 MPG. This is NOT a car for aggressive drivers! Doesn't handle well on corners, lots of roll. With Premium gas only, I spend $400+ a month just driving to work. (6 days at 70 MPD)Trading it in after a year!
Favorite Features
Great Bose sound!! Beautiful exterior design! Comfortable interior!
Suggested Improvements
A 6 cyl. non-turbo.
