We Love it!
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
We have owned the CX-7 for about a year. I bought it for the wife as we needed a vehicle to haul the Grandkids around and our 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse was just not suited for passengers or carseats! The acceleration is stellar ans the handling is supreme! Yes, the gas mileage leaves something to be desired, but overall we are happy with the vehicle!
Favorite Features
Engine, handling and interior. The outside is pretty sexy, too!
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage and now the 2008 model runs on regular.

We Traded it in!
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
We Traded in our 2007 Madza CX7 GT AWD with 9500 miles on it today. We were sick of the premium gas and the absolutely horrid gas mileage 10-13 mpg around town. We brought it to the dealer 3 times to check the mileage problems and they claimed there was no problem. The car was fun to drive but made us sick when filling up.
Favorite Features
Fun to drive. Very peppy!
Suggested Improvements
Gas mileage horrendous! The Bose stereo was not worth the upgrade

Nice little SUV
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
I leased the CX7 to get me and my surfboard to the beach on the weekends. It also does the Costco and Home Depot runs. Since the car was for utility only it is basically stripped. I added a Pioneer in-dash nav unit with an iPod connection to control it through the nav unit. Works great looks ok too. Since the car is stripped, it does not have the outside temp. Should be standard like other Ford products. The car is fun to drive compared with other SUVs. It feels very car like and sporty. Has decent speed but, if you push it hard, it will kill the gas mileage. I have about 12,000 miles and have had no issues with it. So far, it has only needed oil changes. Tires look like they will go to 25k
Favorite Features
Excellent reliability. 19-20 average MPG, usually with surfboard on top.
Suggested Improvements
Outside temp gauge on the Sport Model. Have the option for regular unleaded. I think the 08's fixed this issue. The Maxda racks are very noisy after a year and half of use. They were quiet when purchased.

First time Mazda owner
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Touring 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
This car is extremely responsive and accelerates beautifully. I do miss having the ambient temperature option that I had on my Oldsmobile.
Favorite Features
Dashboard and vents are very functional. Space in console and glove box is great. Leg room is impressive.
Suggested Improvements
Decrease road noise! Tires that don't wear out in the first 14000 miles! Add automatic rear gate lift. Make seat heater switches harder to engage. Add a scan/seek button to the steering wheel. Better gas mileage and no high test.

Bad Choice
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
I loved this car when we first purchased it. After 3 months we started having problems with it. It has been in the shop 14 times in the year that we have had it. Trying to get it declared a lemon. New transmission module, new computer, new tires and new engine!! Don't buy this year model!
Favorite Features
Bose stereo
Suggested Improvements
Leave the transmission indicator off in automatic mode. You see too much up and down through the gears.

Robust
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Touring 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
I adore this car. The engine is robust and perfectly suited to this vehicle. Thus far, I seem to be getting just about the 24 mpg hwy. that the dealership sticker promised. I feel much safer in the CX-7 than I did in my Protege and prefer the engine to small V-6 engines I have driven. I have had my CX-7 for six months and am extremely pleased with it and have had no major issues with it.
Favorite Features
The engine, the high driving position, the agility and handling, and the comfortable seats.
Suggested Improvements
Can't think of any yet.

Nothing but Problems
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Sport 4dr SUV AWD (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
My wife and I purchased the CX-7 in November 2007. The vehicle has been in the shop more than 40 days. It is an electrical nightmare! Problems range from parking lights that do not turn off to windows that will not work. The car has a stiff ride, poor rear visibility, and a cheap looking interior. MPG is horrible averaging about 15. I believe that its sibling, the CX-9, won car of the year for 2007, however the CX-7 is anything but!
Favorite Features
The only thing this vehicle has going for it is its style. It is a sharp looking car.
Suggested Improvements
Better gas mileage, interior material, and a company that stands behind its product.

CX7 Zoom Zoom

Review
I ride a sportbike, I like fun cars since they are a "bad" investment, and I usually buy US cars. Having said that, I love my CX7. It drives like a sports car and if you drive it like that then you will see poor gas mileage and accelerated tire wear. I get 19 mpg in town and until last night saw 21 mpg on the highway. Last night we went to purchase a used Mazda3 for my wife and I set the cruise at 65. With the tach at 2k rpm, I got 24.2 mpg! Very pleased. You need to keep under the power band of 2500 rpm or you will not get over 21 mpg, period. The factory tires are terrible in snow with the low aspect ratio profile. An upgrade to a better all season in the future. US guy converted to Zoom Zoom!
Favorite Features
Exterior styling is great; turbo great fun to drive, premium gas bad in 07 model; handles like a sports car; carries Marshall halfstack, guitars and PA gear nicely; cool electric blue paint; love the 18 inch wheels.
Suggested Improvements
V6 transmission, better CD/radio with more power... should have gotten Bose system but bought off of lot.

Restored Faith
Vehicle
2007 Mazda CX-7 Grand Touring 4dr SUV (2.3L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
Review
I had a Mazda 626 that I loved but it was quite the lemon after 70k miles. But I took the chance and purchased the CX-7. It was love a first sight. Love driving this vehicle. I can pass anyone on the road and it is so easy to steer and maneuver through out traffic (Houston traffic!) I do have the check engine light problem but it is due to the gas cap coming loose. That is only a small hiccup to me and doesn't bother me as much as everyone else. It is fixable, not a deal breaker people! The fuel economy is average and a lot better than I thought it would be. I get premium fuel every third tank and the engine is fine. I will be purchasing a newer model in the next few yrs
Favorite Features
Black leather seats and attractive interior. The car cools instantly in hot Texas weather. The Bose sounds system is banging and the gas mileage isn't as bad as I had prepared myself for (I don't gun the gas pedal!). Highest safety. ratings!
Suggested Improvements
The dash is easily scuffed and seems to be made of a cheap material. No automatic locks. If you un-buckle the seat belt, the alarm is ANNOYING! I should have the right to sit in my car without it being latched and not have it alarming me 100 Xs to buckle. The dealership refused to turn it off.
